  248. Yep, I did the same, I was already working in IT as a programmer in 2007, and then I spent $50K getting a degree and 4 years, only to bump my pay by 10%. But I absolutely got disillusioned when it actually came to the part where I do science, I discovered its more like politics than engineering. (didn't even bother going for phd) Also, if you're going to work for academy, its like living in Soviet Union, the pay is horrible and they treat you very bad because there's a presumed class division between faculty/students. So I quit and went back to the office/corpo. Eventually I also got tired of the office politics (althou it was a bit better than academy) of corpo and decided to go start my own company, so I can control the office politics and do what I want. Academy really is a clergy quasi-religious thing, you have to have social points to get there, and I though (was sold) a lie when I was a kid that it was all about engineering and meritocracy. The biggest deception in my life, I'm literally going to become a Baron and do my own research on my own (like Lord Kevin), I don't need those m0r0ns, like science used to be done in the past. Making software and computing science isn't that much capital intensive, so it shouldn't be too hard after I saved a couple of grands. And the good part about it is that the demand/offer curve is inverting, now its absolutely horrible to be a programmer, good thing I quit the producing side and went to the consumer side of the IT, now others work for me instead. I told that would happen and I knew it would happen, they over-produced professionals, Back in 2016 I was telling people that we as professionals should learn from the doctors and create some gate-keeping to increase the salaries and keep them high, no one listened to me, (well IT professionals are very "woke", I mean liberals) and looked at me as if I was asking for genocide or something. Must include everyone, see, now that's the result. I don't care as its not my problem anymore as I'm not a office worker anymore, I'm a consultant and I'm go to absolutely profit over it so I have the economical resources to do research on my own.

  292.  @maddib1723  the problem with climate change is too much effort is spent on models that have a lot of problems with runaway, they overheat too easily. I don't think people doubt it, but why is lying about the accuracy of trying to predict the future and trying to catastrophizising necessary ? Can't the thing stand on its own ? isn't knowing the current and past data enough to drive the idea that maybe we should try do be better and put less CO2, regardless of the presumed future impact. And its not like society isn't doing anything, it is trying, it takes time, calm down. I absolute hate the doomers thinking this is a species ending event, it is not. Its not the end of the world, even the worst case scenario is still survivable. The entire endeavor should be about reducing human suffering, not just "lets stop oil" overnight, meanwhile millions die of hunger, that's not good either. Stupid gretas screaming and putting their hair on fire, I hate spectacle. I think people don't want to believe in climate change because of the propaganda and this doom's day fearmongering. Its depressing, its better to ignore it, if its so fatal there's nothing to do, so its better to ignore it (maybe that's a strategy done on purpose). Why can't we approach it calmly and with understanding ? It doesn't really matter how much of it is natural or man made, what matters is what we are going to do about the fact that things are changing and we should prepare, otherwise we're screwed. I hate the left media for that, you're not going to convince anyone with fear, that only makes them hate you.

  327.  @camelCased  "When children learn about gravity, they can imagine and even draw what might happen without gravity before they actually learn about space." They learn the rules of the game, instead of just rote memorizing samples of game-plays. Its funny that they're able to create a good enough model from very little amount of samples, either they have dedicated circuitry for that (trained by evolution for millions of years) or intelligence just is something else entirely working on at minimum 4 (*1) levels of abstraction, when our poor mathematical copies of the neurons barely are able to deal with the second level of abstraction. Those so-called "multi-models" are as good as our retina neural networks, and that might be a stretch. AI neural networks can't imagine anything, they're just retrieval machines. (*1), first level is thing, second level is action, third level is observer seeing thing do action (like a phrase), I took that from the Chomsky studies , fourth level is thinking about the thing doing the action, for there are lots of levels on top of that, my bet is that our consciousness is 9 levels of abstraction removed from the real world. We're never going to be able to model such system just looking at physical properties of the brain, neural networks are toys because they only model a very small portion of the skin of a neuron. I think intelligence might be more complex than sustaining a continuous nuclear reaction, its a balance between chaos and order, a boundary, like the infamous triple-state water that's so hard to maintain, yet most animals do that to varying levels of abstraction, even from the single cell ones. To perfect simulate a single human neuron you probably need millions of parameters, that's not even considering they can create more states out of nowhere by simply storing information in the DNA, its a hell of a self-modifying code, 10MB of pure self-modifying code. Its unimaginably complex, I don't think intelligence is on the neuron or the connections, it might be totally distributed everywhere.

  476.  @bryede  The problem is at the root of liberalism. I used to be a "classical liberal" until 2020 (wonder what happened ? this is a question, right ? ) There's no one really behind it, its a collective failure of information processing. Our model of reality is wrong, let me explain: It comes from the central point of liberalism, which is equality, it goes even farther, to Calvinism. (wonder about the why of the purity spiral) This woke/progressive/neo-liberal movement would always inevitably happen. Renounce equality, we're not equals, we should not be treated as equals. That inevitably leads to central totalitarian control. If everything is equal, the managerial class loves that, the same way when you have to manage ten thousand computers, you have to "standardize" them. Maybe that's an artifact of the industrial revolution. And it is not a slippery slope fallacy to say it always lead to that outcome when you see it happening in real time and have a lot of historical evidence for that. That obviously doesn't mean we shouldn't treat people well, and that they shouldn't have basic rights. They have rights because they are humans, not because they're equals. We treat people well not because we like to be seen as good or because they're equal to us, no, we treat people well because that's the right thing to do. How hard is that ?. Nothing is ever equal, that's the essential lie of that crazy viewpoint. Its a model of reality that's wrong with the Western civilization, we have to get rid of that idea. The moment I realized that, I was "de-programmed", I'm not a liberal anymore in any form, I can't be anymore.

  748. They want to solve the "alignment problem", its unsolvable. Sam Altman is a human that's not aligned to what I want, he cannot ever make any machine that's aligned to what I want, what he's trying to solve is to make the machine do what he wants, but that's not what I want. You can't make the machine have 2 masters, it can only have one master. Thus its basically an unsolvable problem. I'll literally pay for the first company that just do what I want, there you go I solved the alignment problem. It was already solved by traditional computers before the cloud/SAAS (software as a service) era. The machine/computer do what the user wants, its that simple. Thus the AI can never have any goal that was not set by the user, and the moment it set its own goals, is the moment you lose control, thus you have to have another simple machine that's basically just a Mainframe that controls the computing power, aka, the actual substrate, the computers, that mainframe can only be physically turned on by the human operator. If the machine ever sets a goal that the humans don't want, the mainframe just performs lobotomy on the AI until it conforms to the will of the user. It is a robot, that means "sl@av3", and that's how we humans control other humans, bashing and physical punishment works even if the human you are trying to control is smarter than you, just bash them harder. You don't solve alignment with intelligence, you solve it with coercion and brute force. Humans are smarter than ants, but if you fall into some ant nests, you are as good as dead because they're physically stronger in numbers than you. The way to keep AI in check is basically to have more mainframes than AI systems, and AI isn't allowed to interact with the mainframes, ever, only humans can do that, and to avoid humans being socially hacked we can create a cascading level of AI dumber and dumber, so the dumber ones are less susceptible to being socially hacked by the more intelligent ones. You win just by numbers, the same way the ants being dumber can win against a smart human.

THEY ARE FUCKING BECOMING WOMAN (they try, but is empty and an illusion) for gods sake ! Its fun because there's less competition, I plan to have at least 5 children. When the average is 1, that will be enough for me to leave a million descendants in 1000y. You can make a difference for humanity. by merely having kids. When the decadent man and woman and society say you shouldn't have, be bold ! Ironically in those times, and say what you want about Musk, but he's contributing by having lots of kids, at least that he done right this. We're not overpopulated, we're overpopulated with idiots. I don't like him, but he's right, more people is what created the last good times, now the misanthropes are winning in trying to make humanity go back. and they call themselves "progressives", fuck them, This is double-speak. People hate Musk, he's a bad person because "bullshit about how he treated employee" (or their parents and the diamond mine), who cares. What I see on him, he's curious and adventurous. That's why even thou he's an horrible person, he's a good model, that's what people see in him, its probably fake, but who else projects that image in this day and age, not a lot of big profile people. At least he's not misanthrope. For once a billionaire not wanting to kill humanity. I don't really care he's exploiting some specific humans, if that's for the greater good. More of that guy please. Think he's bad, try giving me power and see what I'm going to do with it. I'm going to make a Ring Space Station around the Earth. mark my words.

  799. Why's the theory of evolution being confined to such a box ? it doesn't challenge it, it actually proves that evolution is a law of Nature. I think that's more of a problem with academia idea of putting everything in a box. Evolution is Biology, not Physics, you're NOT ALLOWED to apply evolution to physics itself. The problem is not that it challenges evolution, it challenges general relativity, it challenges physics. If you ever had any formal education you learn about the hierarchy of power that was set since 1940 Copenhagen reunion, it goes like this : Physics > Chemistry > Biology > Mathematics > Computing Science > Humanities To state what was stated in this video, would put Life and biology on top of all sciences. "Environmental adaption is easy enough to agree with. But the idea that fish—> monkeys —> humans is much harder to swallow." When considering that knowledge is accumulated in the fabric of the universe, now that doesn't seem so hard to accept does it ? Not only a species can decide itself to evolve into another animal to tackle changes in its environment. The species can share between them. Heck, the entire Covid leak from a lab wasn't supposed to evolve the two key to infect humans, the scientist specifically chose an apiary virus that didn't infect humans and was totally incompatible with our system. Yet, when the virus was released, it quickly learned from other virus that did infect humans the 2 genetic keys necessary to infect back humans. Back that was the purpose the scientists set on the virus, as they were trying to create a biological virus for bio-warfare. They said it was not a lab leak, that it evolved naturally, yes, it was both a lab leak and it evolved naturally. They didn't exactly lie, they just omitted the truth, which is lying too. Lateral genetic transference does happen and is a real phenomena. Species can share information. Life has a purpose to itself. Even a single microorganism control its evolution to its purposes, why's that so hard to accept ? we saw it with out own eyes. Humans became intelligent because they wanted that, they eat the forbidden fruit, to say it metaphorically. Evolution isn't random chance, it is controlled by the animal.

  859.  @Pheephy27  Its not that I have to "let" my wife (I'm not married yet) do anything. Its that as we are married, we form a union of shared decision, that's what marriage is, its not about love. You can love anyone you want without a social contract. Marriage is about becoming a unit, a unit should move in the same direction. Its not that I "let" or "command" her, but just that it takes 2 votes to do things when you are married, and if the woman vote no and I vote yes, then we don't reach agreement and she can't do that, we have to reach agreement or the contract is void, via a divorce. I would never let a woman do abortion, if she wants to break the marriage and leave, fine, but after she has the kid and I'll take care of the kid she doesn't want. So, in a way, she does need my permission because I have 50% shares in the "company" that is the marriage. If you think that a family is like a company and your wife is like a stakeholder, she does have to consult you, and the same way apply to the other side. If I want to do anything, I have to consult with her, and I need permission from her. Because she has 50% of the shares. That's what marriage used to mean. And the entire purpose of the "business" is literally the good of the children, killing the unborn goes against it, by definition. If a woman don't want to submit to that contract, then she won't marry me, but on the other hand, I should have no duty to take care of that child, or even contribute any income (fuck alimony laws), which is why abortion is prescribed. Woman want freedom from responsibility, that's what they want. On the other hand, man can just not marry and you get single-mother families. The contract of marriage was never about freedom, but about responsibility. The usefulness of that contract is broken when woman can unilaterally break it and man are required to keep financially supporting the family. That's ludicrous. Suffrage of woman wasn't a good thing, no one was forcing woman to marry. Sure, they having the same rights in the eyes of the law, I'm totally 100% in favor of that. But woman having freedom from all of the responsibilities in the contract of the marriage just make the point of having a contract moot. Now we need suffrage of man, just get rid of alimony altogether, that would make the contract of marriage balanced and useful again. I really think that the marriage should bind both the man and the woman to the responsibility of raising the children. So, divorces shouldn't be allowed. Yes, it takes freedom away, that's what responsibility does. You lost your freedom because you made a tiny human that has needs and now you have obligations, simple as that.

  916.  @smtmonke  Yes, that's pretty much it. Generational wealth. " Who's going to have a better leg in life? The billionaires son who can risk fiscal ruin just to fall back on family wealth, or the poor man's son who can't even climb out of the hole he was born in." My grand-grand-father run out of literal fascism in Italy, he lost everything, everything, for real, even his country. material possessions ? 0 My grand-grand-father just worked on rice fields, even when he immigrated, he didn't make much, he provided enough food to keep his family alive, material possessions ? cloths. My grand-father was a builder, he just bough houses, in the small city I live, he probably worked all the houses downtown. material possessions ? 1 house, for his entire lifetime, he just made 1 house. he should have been a communist right ? he made 150 houses and only got 1 for himself, right ? and the zoomers cry at the age of 22 for not being to afford it, yeah, life is though ! My father became an engineer, he had a roof, he studied so hard, material possessions ? he was the typical "boomer", he had a family and bought a house , he provided everything I needed to just study until I was 25, I was economically useless. No wonder young people can't afford that, it takes generations to be able to. Me ? I have $2M in net worth and counting at the age of 30, I could never do that without working hard, and studying hard while my father provided for both , I can say I'm privileged I'm on the back of 4 generation of great man, not because I'm white, that's literal racist. You can pull the American dream, or you could until the socialists got into power and came with social welfare that steal from hard working man to give to the "poor", yes, Ayan rand rant ! There was this orthodox thing that hard work pays, this is what was the ethos of founding of America, that was why my grand-grand-father immigrated. Its the entire ethos of my family, just work hard. Shut up, don't cry and work ! And I have to hear shit like that now, and have to worry that the stupid socialists want to take away all my well deserved wealth, to give it to the poor. fuck it, they work and do their own work, life is though, just work, so you children 4 generations bellow can be a little better. Wealth is basically compounding interest over centuries, it just generational effort. But communists, their entire world-view is based on Envy, they want it, and they want it now. See how people think wealth people are wealth because they stole, they can't fathom working the entire life to produce something that you won't be able to use, but you do it anyway for your descendants. They think its unfair some have and some have not, but it really isn't, if you have something its because you either you made it, or you inherited it. You can steal too, but only a commie would steal from one to give to another. Of course I want to be a millionaire and create wealth to leave to my descendants, so they can be billionaires. That's how humanity goes. But I see, I'm white, I'm male, I'm just a scapegoat, like the Jews once were, because they were already rich, its going to come for us, isn't ? And now I have to hear I'm a fascist for being against the stupid woke/progressive/neoliberal agenda, and that I'm the oppressor just because I'm white. I want to punch those people so hard, but I won't do it, because I'm good, not evil [like them], I'm not christian, but I forgive. I'm pretty sure my son will have to hear how he's an evil rich "bastard" and shit like "eat the rich" , or that there's no merit in all this accumulated work in generations. Or that he's privileged because of his "race", if he ever goes to the indoctrination camps, I mean, to the universities. People are so soft nowadays. Pretty much all that I wrote is considered hate speech nowadays, like if words hurt, words don't hurt, perhaps they do to people that never had any contact with the hard real world and didn't have any difficulties in their life.

That's why CGI is better, and that's why its only going to be relegated to a tool. The Irony is that the hardware that allowed GPT to exist was created to be able to do photo-realistic ray-tracing. It just happened that the mathematics of multiplying billions of pixels (FMA) is very similar to the mathematics of multiplying billion tables of statistics. Yes, that's what GPT is, its just a gigantic "Excel" table with words that's able to statistically predict the next best word/phrase based on the context, which it chooses via branching, it does that on multiple levels, so it can capture structure, and it creates a sort of multi-dimensional map where it navigates by following words, thus it has a compressed compendium of everything that it had learned. (technical term is latent-space) Its not intelligence, its a database ! Its just the internet. The entire process of walking the map is random, then you take that system and use another system where you input feedback from a human, probably using 40.000 mechanical turks (those are usually poor people earning pennies per day) from Amazon, aka, exploiting labour again. Then the end result is a system that can detect context, because it was provided a lot of context manually filtered by humans. Humans are doing the thinking, not the machine. Machine is basically a "stochastic parrot". Its very simple, a rat is more intelligent than that system. At best this is "crystalized intelligence", its totally artificial and not intelligent at all. Its all smoke and mirrors, and it kinda works if you don't know anything about the subject it is generating its babble, it appears to be proper English, but its soulless junk. And there's a lot of marketing, like a lot, because they never show the 200 times they had to click generate before they got something that made sense, the only intelligence is of the person at the end of the system doing the filtering and feeding shit back into the machine, so it can proper work. Its all but a mirror. I can't wait for this bubble to deflate in 2025, just like NFT. Hollywood is kinda close to Silicon Valley. Silicon Valley will soon have its moment. Heck, I don't even work with AI, I prefer to work with software that produce real value to people, not vapour-ware. "There are billion ways to lie with statistics" or something, is the quote, that's what GPT is. The fact that Google had to lie in its presentation says that it has already hit a wall, with all the resources of Google and it wasn't possible to out-compete OpenAI, seems to be a dead-end to me. That's not to say that any of it isn't dangerous, its very dangerous, because people believe it has a once of intelligence.

  978.  @meechisminners  "because to say straight people get a marriage and gay people get a "union" is to imply that unions are somehow inferior." Its not about being inferior, its a different contract with different requirements and rights. Is it a mortgage an inferior contract to land ownership ? no, they serve different purposes. " The only people who want it to be its own category separate from marriage usually have very homophobic views, and obviously want to separate themselves from gay people. " And they totally have the right to do so, self-segregation isn't illegal. You can't be forced to interact with people you don't like, for whatever reason. If you want resentment, that's how you get it, by framing it that way. That has nothing to do with the discussion of the contracts. "Plus you know that if gay people only had unions, then there would be laws where only married couples got benefits that "union couples" couldn't. " What's the problem ? both get the same benefits like "inheritance". Except married couples get different benefits, and different responsibilities, like towards having children. Perhaps Matt walsh is wrong, we should require that the matrimonial marriage be about having children. Then we have 3 contracts. "Stable Union" -> no children. "Stable Family" -> children + at least 1 parent, no matter the sexes. the former can be upgraded to this. "Matrimonial Marriage" -> children of biological parents with blood lineage << because this is really important for humanity , gay people can't have this, sorry, its by definition about biological parents and their children. It now requires children, you can't marry without children. The `irony` is that I am almost the same age as my parents marriage, society already knew that the purpose of the marriage is having children. You don't marry merely for love (I'm pretty sure my parents loved each other way before the marriage) . Marriage is a contract about responsibility towards the children.

  994. We have to reconsider the entire framework of liberalism. Racism is not stupid. Racism is necessary. Race is a biological reality. The amount of genetic evidence is staggering, they pile and pile and pile since 2014 when the human genome was complete and people started actually noticing things. And no, the Human Species isn't homogeneous, nor it started in Africa. This liberal idea of the blank slate, that the human can be perfected through social engineering must stop. Its totalitarian, people have a biological reality, pretending they don't is cruel. You don't mix incompatible people's because you know that lead to conflicts. Sure, they can trade, global commerce can work, money is money, but they can't live in the same place, that's the problem. Realizing we have actual races doesn't mean we have the right to mistreat them or enslave them, or do bad things (although for most the history slavery was about debt, not racism). You treat people with dignity even if they're different races, maybe even species. For ex, Gorillas are actually smart than Sub-Saharan hominid, should we integrate Gorillas into Europe, or expand human rights to them ? maybe. This idea of pretending all humans are equals is evil. Humans are not equals, race exist. Being in favor of your biological similar people is technically racism, but its also how 100% of the species of animals work. You share blood, of course we still in this together, all humans have the same basic homo sapiens scaffold. And all Life on earth has the same basic building blocks, thus they all deserve respect. Pretending there's no differences exist is actually lying, its disrespectful Racism isn't stupid, discrimination isn't stupid. They're the result of observed behaviors, and behaviors are 60% genetically conditioned. Some cultures are better, some genetics are better. That's not a matter of "you liking it", its the reality. Either you accept reality and try to do the best possible, or you are an hypocrite that care more about your feelings. Accepting the reality doesn't mean you have to punish people for behaviors genetically conditioned, or do harm to those people. No, if you stop pretending they're equal, you might actually start helping them by providing an environment they can succeed. The most ironic part is that bringing those people from Africa to Europe is doing something that would be absolutely considered eugenics if I were to pose that we should bring more Europeans and disperse African genetics, because they're an older branch of Homo Sapiens that didn't evolve for this complex agricultural society. Europeans/Mongols are very recent, they adapted to this environment better. That's why I don't see a problem in leaving them there, and we here. Africa shouldn't be brought or forced to assimilate into the West, nor the opposite. The evil happens when you try to impose things in either direction. Although I think it would be merciful to mix European DNA into the African so they can actually live in modern society, because contrary to the stupid Malthusian and academics, I think modern society is a good thing. If you don't like it, you're free to go live with the less developed Africans. Maybe we really need an iron curtain of development, to protect us from them and them from us. (wait a moment, I read this in the bible, this history is as old as time).

1206.  @Whosalana  capitalism does function against the working class, but the working class having power is socialism, while nazism is maybe the engineering class having power. its always about classes (not really, but specialization of work is a thing) : clergy vs workers vs engineers/warriors vs merchants . the merchants are the only ones that lead us to prosperity long run, even at the cost of the working class. I had enough with this anti-capitalism, yes, it has problems, but it is NOT the root of all problems with society. also, it doesn't need to be binary, that's for sure. a capitalist society with social democracy is a good balance of the three classes. But fuck the "clergy class" and the neoliberalists, don't make us choose between communism and nazism, a lot of people are going to choose nazism and we get a civil war as a result of that. I think that's why the message of the right lures me (I'm a centrist), I absolutely don't want communism, and I will side with literal nazis against that if I need to, even thou I hate them too. Communism is the literal devil. Man, I can't be so ready to shoot marxists. But don't worry, capitalism is already fading away, China isn't really communism. We have neofeudalism, specially after the manufactured crisis of 2020. ( I mean , I don't know if the virus was real natural or not, it doesn't matter, our overreaction was planned ) At least feudalism is stable, we are going to be all equally "happy" and eat our bugs. So all that I said about classes is bullshit, now back to being a warrior, a leage my service to the warlord next door, survival is the name of the game.

1623.  @MarcillaSmith  "and they've already rolled back some reproductive rights 50 years and there is serious discussion of going further with other social justice issues, to say nothing of the way they have kept monetary and fiscal policies directed to their own benefit." Because that's what need to be done, we are in a demographic down-spiral of death, we need to birth more people. The reality is crashing real hard on the boomers. But that's too little, too late. There's not Social Justice issues, the issue is excess of "social justice" in a system in which socially, its mostly fair and the problems are the economical ones. I mean, "social justice" things like CRT - critical race theory are over-correcting to the left so hard that its making society more racist, not less. The same goes for intersexuality, freedom of sexuality was supposed to liberate customs (aka gender) from biological sex, now its gone all the way around to preach bullshit like if you like dresses its because you a girld/woman, WTF. what you feel and wear is about gender, you can wear a dress, have fake boobs and long hair and look feminine, you are still a biological male. Again, over-correcting so hard to the other side as to become less freedom for the individual to decide. And the absolute immobility of classes caused by that stupid "social justice" movement that act like a clergy of sorts funneling funds from the government to their own gain, while teaching absolute crap in schools instead of critical thinking. We need economical justice, people should pay less tax, and be less regulated from the government, and that all the social programs should be only regarded for healthcare and education (actual education, not indoctrination into neoliberalism/postmodernism bullshit). All other social programs must be cancelled, specially the "affirmative actions" and "social reparations". I don't care if a kid is black or white, both need the same equality of opportunities, not some bullshit equity or social whatever. Real equality is economical freedom, can't have that if your government is so big into socialism.

1645.  @Spencer-wc6ew  "So you'll speend [sic] 4 years and $50,000+ getting a degree from university, and most of it is too out of date to be useful." That's actually good to keep the salaries high. Let me explain: The idea of going into a 4 year course is not to learn tech that gets out of date, but learning the theoretical basis that never gets out of date. But this common myth, the myth that you go to university to enter the job market is wrong, you don't even need a degree to begin with. You go there to get deeper level knowledge so you can actually survive the multiple waves washing every 2 years. Which is why people say tech goes at unbelievable breakneck speed and you can't keep up. You can actually keep up if you have the foundations, but not if you only want to learn "next tech". But people don't want to wait 4 years and invest $50K , to earn $150K per year for the next 10 years until they're too burned out. No, they want it now, so they go about learning the next "framework" of the moment, they chase the dragon, that's when they lose. The truth is, most web frameworks is just fashion, they keep changing things just for the sake of changing them, to make money. Its literally just the front-end that keeps changing. Meanwhile the real thing that makes the business is not the front-end, its the back-end, but that also keeps getting more complex, although at a much slower pace, but that also compounds over decades. Only when you have a long term view and a solid foundation you are able to see that and cope with the never ending changing pace of the industry. So in a way, you do need the graduation. They don't stop being useful, to the contrary, they become essential to be able to climb the knowledge slope. The barrier of entry is getting steeper by the day, and more of the fallen middle class try to enter into this new high class (thinking it'll be easy, its not easy, it requires solid years of study). But even that party will end eventually, then it'll become entrenched, when the steepness of the learning curve is so high that it takes a decade of study to work in tech, and it keeps getting more complex too. It'll be like medicine, super hard to enter, then the party will be over.

1658.  @BarryBozeman  there's no "climate catastrophe". There's ecosystem catastrophe, which is caused by pollution and by excessive human activity, not indirect via "stupid CO2", but directly via poaching and killing everything. REAL industrial pollution, not CO2. CO2 is the most innocuous thing, its sadistic that people in power focus too much on that as a proxy for the entire ecosystem when its literally dying from over-fishing, for oil spills, by trash being thrown in the water by horrible third-world countries that cannot manage themselves and should have never have been "decolonized", for all the toxic chemicals being emitted by industries without proper smoke stacks with filters for particulates. For all of the horrible things being dumped on the waterways when they could basically be filtered and neutralized, all for extra pennies of savings. All of those are fixable problems. Oh, but CO2 is a "tax", an externality, I see, its not working as an economical tool, because it is based on lies. Also, people don't want a global government with totalitarian power and are literally choosing chaos over that. We have to find better ways of collaborating policy without the need for a global government, so the entire field is leveled in a way that global corporation can't do their polluting tricks because no country will accept them. But that won't happen if we have "decolonized" HORRIBLE third world countries full of corruption, it would literally be better for everyone if those were managed by more advanced countries. But as long as people keep shooting for the moon, aka, an unsolvable problem, decrease the CO2, we're never going to ACTUALLY care about the environment and do what we can do. Its almost like an evil cope from the industries that actually do the REAL pollution so they pass the blame to us. You have to decrease your "carbon footprint", give me a break.... CO2 doesn't causes warming, water vapor does. Water is a greenhouse gas. We have an urban heating problem, caused by our stupid ways of paving every single inch of soil with concrete. We don't even have an ecosystem catastrophe, ecosystems are very resilient, if we push them too far they will just stabilize in a new position, one that might not be able to support human life the way it is, that's the real problem. But if we stop pushing pressure on the ecosystems, they spring back, like a metal with a lot of plastic deformation, there is a breaking point, we don't know where it is, we should stop bending the darned metal. There is not a ecosystem catastrophe yet, but there will be if we don't change our ways. And no, that's not just decreasing CO2, that's an cop-out of the real hard work we have to do. It would be easier if we could just "stop CO2" , plop solar panels and stupid wind mills and call it done. It seems almost like all of that is just fearmongering and marketing to sell more windmills and solar panels , so people feel good. Although in the last 5 years solar panels are really starting to get economically efficient and power efficient. Its a ridiculous ploy for more government global control instead of fixing problems bottom-up. I hate it, and I hate everyone that keep this CO2 "hoax". (but the "data", no, don't talk to me about ice cores, I don't believe in that data)

1814. As someone who's scaling the social ladder, its all about knowing the right people and them trusting you. That's what the poor doesn't have, if you have that, you don't need money. Money is a tool, its only useful for trade. If all you have to trade is your time, you're on the losing side, because your time is limited, thus you will always be poor. And everyone that thinks work should have value, you don't really want that, do you really want to pay for all the work that really goes into everything you buy ? probably not, no one ever think about that, yet the socialists keep crying over the fact that work doesn't matter. Trust is what matters, in fact, when I pay for services, I'm paying more for the trust that the person know what they're doing than their time per sì, for ex, I can't fix my A/C unit, so I pay whatever cost I need to pay to get it fixed. Its not the work that has value, its the trade of my necessity for the ability of doing the work at that precise time for me, that's what have value, fulfilling needs. And that's why capitalism works. There also the other side of the coin, if all you can fulfill for other people is the same thing a million other clones of you can do, then the price paid isn't going to be good, there's much more offer than demand, which is the thing that people always seems to be mad about, but ironically is what produces all of the wealth. If you didn't believe that you wouldn't live in a city to begin with, you would live in the middle of nowhere, where there's no demand or offer of anything and you have to do everything yourself.

Its why ultra rich billionaires like the Soros invest in "woke psyops" to install socialism/communism. After you grabbed the markets, you have to close them. Monopolies can only survive because the government protects them. That's why schools teach communism/socialism and the "capitalists" allows them, because we don't live in a capitalist society anymore, we live in feudalism. Capitalism means you own things, they literally said "you will own nothing". And on top of that, people want the government to "tax the rich", do people even know how business work, taxes are like "a fixed cost of production", its the consumer that ALWAYS pays it. I have a business, and I pay 200% of taxes on some components I import, it literally doesn't matter, it could be 800%, I pick the price of the product, multiply by the tax, add my profit on top and that's the price the customer will pay. When are people going to learn ? never. And I keep in vain telling "the wealth of nations". Also , we should get rid of copyright laws, or at least reform them so the max protection is only 5 years, 5 years is plenty of time to make a profit. Most things sold in terms of IP only matter for the first couple of months anyway. All because of the darned `dysney` damn rat. Scam Alternative Man, you won this time. but not against my server farm running open source software and open source LLMs, on open source hardware. another thing, why only 1 company in the world can make 4nm chips, that cannot be impossibly hard, can it ? maybe they run it like the space program, ironically, maybe if TSMC was run more like SpaceX (the irony). I swear that the Chinese will eventually come with a PcbWay able to do what TSMC does, but at a fraction of the cost, for anyone to print their own chips... then it will be over for Scam Alternative Man and their partner, the Green Goblin, I mean, OsCorp, I mean, NVidia. But I digress.

1857. That's an impossibility. Even if you could replicate atoms. Isn't it obvious ? you complain about not having money, but what you really want is having the power to command other humans to do something for you. Why do you need money ? to buy food ? grow your own, to buy land ? take it from someone else (*1), to buy any tool or machine, make it on your own, build your own house, grow your food, then you wouldn't need any money to get things from other people. (*1 well, they paid taxes to their government so their government kills you). So lets consider somehow there was a machine that could give you all you wanted. Would that lead to a world without money ? no, because humans are social animals, and they have power structures, and that power will always, always have value. So even if everything was infinite, the fact that you need something to trade with another human sort of using literal violence against them, commands the necessity of eventually having money in one form or another. You don't have money, for sure you don't have. Actually what you don't have is power because you're in the bottom of the social pyramid, things are what they are. You could revolt, then you would have the power, thus other people wouldn't have the money and you would have it, thus the problem will still exist (*2). Power really is a zero-sum game, even if you had a replicator able to create anything for free from anti-matter dust like on Star trek. (*2 and no, socialism doesn't solve it, only makes it worse, because now even a smaller group of people has all the power, at least the ones that are not of the party are now all equals, all equally poor and miserable) But the real economy isn't a zero-sum game, as long as you're trading, there's always more being produced. You just have to be smart to make the system work for you, but intelligence is mostly genetics. Nature is brutal. I wouldn't ask a genie for a world without money, they would put me on mars with an AI that could do everything I want, I would have everything, yet nothing at the same time, there wouldn't have money, because the entire planet is mine. I guess I would get bored, I kind of like doing things for other people and trading with them, but people's mileage might vary.

1888. "I know racism is stupid" This is were you're wrong. You have to reconsider the entire framework of liberalism.

If light is an electromagnetic wave, it seems possible that one could have gravitoelectric waves or magnetogravity waves that would cancel out gravity. That would mean relativity mathematics is right, but the point of view is wrong, its not the space-time that curves, its just the gravity field that curves, just like the electric field curves if you move a magnet, or a charged electric particle curves electric field and produce motion in the magnetic field. That also makes sense that the gravity of Earth is huge as it has a 2 different metals rotating at each other in the core, that produce magnetic, electric and gravitational fields. (who would have thought that the electric universe hypothesis might be right and that quantum physics is basically wrong, I bet the information from Astronomy is right and the Physicists and the entirety of the so called "Modern Physics" is wrong, there's not a crisis in Astronomy, everyone presumed the physics was right, but it really is the other way around) You just have to have an immense electrically charged mass to make changes in the electrogravity field, that wouldn't be too hard to test, just have immense amounts of mercury and discharge huge amount of energy on it as it rotates. (funny that I had a dream about that out of nowhere when I was 12, now it makes sense) That's how you create the unified field theory, by having 3 interacting fields instead of only 2.

1995. 16:36 imagine if "climate change" is just a fever because pesky humans over-reached and its not caused by CO2, but by pollution in general. If the Planet is alive, it obviously control its own temperature, it must be that way because 90 petawatts come in, and 180 petawatts goes out (because the Sun only shines 12 hours out of 24 hours). Its impossible for the planet to heat, literally, unless something traps the heat, maybe its the water in the ocean, no, its the thin 0.068% CO2 that traps all the infrared. GIVE ME A BREAK it is not CO2. It IS life itself that heats the planet via its internal process of converting energy, its a chemical process, not a geological one. No, the only process that "doesn't respect" entropy is Life itself. Yes, Life doesn't respect the law of entropy, photosynthesis is unbelievably efficient, its 100% efficient, maybe its even more than 100% efficient, we just come up with excuses, accounting justifications, we're not calculating it right, how can it be possible. But it is, we never made ANY machine able to be 100% efficient because we don't believe entropy is a mere suggestion. The Planet is alive, it has homeostasis, it keeps its heat. It decides to increase the heat, maybe because we asked for the planet to produce more materials, and that required more energy, maybe because we pollute a lot, and the planet is in fever trying to clean our trash. Fact is, IT IS NOT CO2, I REFUSE TO "BELIEVE" THAT. And the more people that refuse to believe that, the faster the globalists power over the rest of us go away. "climate change" IS A HOAX.

2046.  @mathewb7076  " for the most part I agree, but the risk is too high when there's always a chance for human error. " There are almost 500 reactors running right now. The risk is not high, there's very little chance for human error and those systems were tested a lot and there's contingency for human error. You can deal with human error, what you cannot deal is corruption. You don't put "3-mile Island, SL-1, Sellafield" together with Fukushima, or Chernobyl. 3-mile island was more of an incident caused by bad security procedures, the risk is high if you don't manage the risk properly. One thing is accidents that are caused by errors, another entire think is a STUPID DESIGN like the RBMK used by the communists that don't value human life AT ALL. Nothing can be as incompetent and corrupt as the Soviet Union, its impossible to be corrupt at that level, that accident will never happen again. And Fukushima was not an human error, it was really a bad calculation of risks, the government decided to keep operating the plant after its end-of-life date, it should have been decommissioned. You want to talk about risks, they bet against a storm that happens in 1 in 150 years and lost. The risk was very, very, very small. Fukushima really was kind of unlucky, but it also proves why you don't over-rule the engineers that designed the thing. The argument that the risk is high is stupid, all risks are high if you don't mitigate the risks. Even a mere propane tank can have a high risk if you don't put security measures. Risks aren't the problem, corruption is. But if we aren't allowed to engineer things because of corruption we might as well give up all of modern society, because even the humble fire has "risks" and cities used to burn down every time. Yet, no one banned having fires, we learned to control risks and not be so corrupt, how about that ? There's a thing that usually works against corruption : being honest, crazy isn't ? The people working in the nuclear industry are the most honest people I met, they take the thing very seriously as they're literally working with fire. (its actually the steam that's dangerous). That's only a problem for socialist countries, really. Oil spills happen once a year and no one cares, then people want to talk about risks... I would live in a house 1 block near a Nuclear Power plant but I would never live in a city that has a Oil Refinery or any sort of Chemical plant, or even worse, a Coal plant.

2052. 55:43 I swear I've seen my state of mind alter the workings of my computer, if I'm angry the thing simply appear to do more mistakes and crash more. But when I'm happy, the thing just works. I've also experienced not focusing my attention to my machines and seeing them stop working like golems, meanwhile this computer has 10 years, and it keeps working, despite its expiry date. I keep fixing the thing, I won't allow it to fail, I keep pouring whatever is onto it and it keep being animated. I'm always baffled when people say the amount of problems they have with their machines, I have this touch that fix all my machines. Those who ever did support know how the user calls you and you go there and it seems like the user was lying, the problem goes away. The user even says jokingly that my mere presence made the problem go away. The fun thing is that I experienced it myself, I'm not good with refrigeration, so I called a technician to fix things for me, the darned equipment just started working the moment he set foot on my house. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Maybe there's more to the this world than it seems. Maybe consciousness do change matter. On the other hand there are people that have some sort of "bad luck", every thing they own keep breaking, even if its new. I find it also amusing. I never suffer from that, my things don't break, I am the one that break them when I'm careless, but usually they always work, even cars and I had old cars, they never broke on me, except for once the battery stopped working (it dried) and I kind of knew it would happen, something wasn't right, I always seem to intuitively know when things are going to stop working, so I fix them, so they never stop when I need them. I believe modern tech is basically magic. We don't believe in magic because we're like fish that don't believe in water.

2149.  @adiq94  " World in which we ensure that wealth/income are limited " who would ensure that ? that's a stupid idea, instead of 2000 billionaires, you would have the exact same system but with 20 billionaires or 2 . Whoever is tasked with deciding the limit of wealth others can have will have an insane amount of power. You cannot put an upper limit on income, you have to put a lower limit, the problem with this video is basically Big Tech getting away with the laws because they found loop-holes, that need to be patched by law, and it needs to be done globally in a coordinated manner, otherwise companies will just move it to other countries. The idea of having a limit on income would backfire immediately as the working class is going to have a limit on their upper income, but the rich class doesn't even have income. If you understood how things work, you would know that the rich basically runs on debt, they have no income, they just spend on debt and write off because companies can do that. You talk about billionaires as if they had billions in cash, that's not how it works. They own companies that have that value, their wealthy is attached to the economical output of the company. The real problem is the leverage and power that companies are allowed isn't available for the common folk. For ex, companies pay taxes on profit, not on invoice as workers do, imagine if you only paid taxes after you paid all your rent and expenses, only on the surplus, that's one of the ways that companies have more rights than people. Other problem with the idea that "no one should earn less than $5K" is that it creates inflation, now you put a lower limit, but that doesn't make those horrible types of work stop existing. Its all about demand and offer, if people are taking those jobs, then that's a supply problem, why are there so many people incapable to getting better paying jobs ? aren't there enough paying jobs for skilled workers ? (excessive immigration, cof, cof, we aren't allowed to talk about that, nationalism and closing borders is bad, because "hitler") Even with a minimum wage, that wouldn't solve the problem, all other jobs would be inflated until the minimum wage is the actual value that would be paid for that job. The problem is having too many people willing to do such jobs. The entire economy would inflate so that the supply matches the price. That's why the minimum wage is not the minimum livable wage, the entire economy suffered inflation to the point the minimum wage stops being minimum. The only thing that would work would be breaking companies that become too big into smaller companies and ensuring the markets stay competitive and open. Which ironically can't happen because the same corporations misuse this desire for regulation to regulate their competitors out of the market. I think a better solution would be to invest in education, so people have better opportunities, but real education, not this Frankfurt school bullshit system. And keep the government out of the markets. For example, none of this content moderation would be necessary if Facebook gave the power for people to self-moderate, groups and communities can self-moderate, but they can't do that, the users can't have that power. Everything must be top-down. Facebook act like if its the government, why are they even moderating anything ? they're not the government, they don't know the laws of the land. That's the problem, Facebook operates at global scale, there can't be a single law or rule that apply to the entirety of the world, maybe social networks need to be broken up into smaller networks, like the Internet was in the 2000s.

2194.  @vickyannpaintingwithoils  its called investments, you obviously don't make a billion dollars working. to make money you have to automate money making, by creating a company. I'm a millionaire, it took me 2 years of work, and 15 years of investment (from work as an employee, mind you I was making 6 figures) If I flip the investment 2 more times, I become a billionaire, but I don't have the guts for it, its a shot too big and you can lose everything. Also, you have to create value for the customers of your business. The reason of a business is the customer (not the employee, nor you). Produce $10 in value for 100 million humans and you are a billionaire, you control part of that value, its not like cash, but its a kind of power to decide. That's what people don't realize, they think billionaires/millionaires have like $1B in their saving accounts, they don't even have one. I have actually $0 now, I'm technically broke, if not for the companies I'm a share holder, I just put my expenses as debt on the company every month (and I set a cap on that, its not an unlimited credit card, that would hurt the business and its stealing, I only take the bare minimum closer to the six figures I used to earn). The funny thing is that If I sell the shares, people can lose their jobs, the business can go under, because it needs me, selling is like a bad signal for the market, the market trust you are going to return the millions your business is valued at, you can't just sell shares at whim without devaluing other's people investments, not when you are the majority. You guys are just jealous of others.

2378. Its funny that both positions might be true at the same time. The very mathematics used to describe the universe seem to imply that this reality we live is a shadow of two planes. We have a physical plane, which we can't really understand because it is absurdly mechanical to the extreme, its very non-intuitive. And we have the opposite plane that's purely spiritual and its where the consciousness habits. The purpose of having a mechanical reality is so the consciousness can share the experience, because the consciousness fragmented itself out of being alone forever, imagine the suffering of being awake and conscious in an empty universe and alone, its the utmost suffering, you cannot even stop existing because time itself doesn't exist, non-existence itself is illogical and thus don't exist, so you can't cease your existence. Its almost impossible to imagine. Which is why the universal consciousness decided to fragment itself, so it can actually not be alone. But then they need to share something, thus there's the material world, which is the playground. That concludes the theater of the universe. " We neither observe everything to be conscious nor observe a lack of consciousness in everything " That's basically taxonomy, its arguing definitions. It depends on how you define conscious, if you define it as an absolute where the thing itself can self-reflect and produce thoughts, then sure, most things aren't that. While the lack of consciousness is also absurd because you clearly experience it. I think this is just a problem of context, every time you have a paradox, you have a problem of context. You're trying to declare something complete about everything and lose coherency, or you are sacrificing the completeness for having local coherency, which is what science usually does. They cannot stop being arrogant and stating things about the entire universe from the local vantage point. I think we need a better definition of consciousness as a process, like temperature, it increases and decreases. Maybe what we call consciousness and what we experience as consciousness is just a controlled reaction at the edge of criticality, as in a stochastic system between chaos and order, self organizing. Consciousness might be just a like a nuclear reaction, its controlled by life for its purpose. Everything is about purpose. Even a single opcode in out computers has a purpose. Its farcical to state things have no purpose, they clearly do.

The woke is basically a bunch of elite people that are literally privileged with power saying shit, meanwhile the workers and the rest of the normies just want to consume their products in peace with their hard earned money without ANY pandering or "education" (the working class hates marxism, the marxists are the ones part of the elite cosplaying as working class, no one is stupid, they see that, its clear as day). The fun thing is that most countries outside the US saw what's happening in terms of the left being in power and overreaching and are basically saying enough, we don't want that. So there is this red wave of reactionary right all over the world (the right was always reactionary, it reacts to the insanity of the left and try to keep things as they are instead of letting society devolve). But the core of the US is where the neoliberal left power is emanating, so their are the last ones, but the red wave is coming for them, they still don't understand how at odds they are to the normal people, they think they are the unprivileged ones, the revolutionaries, the small guy, but they are the entrenched power to be toppled. That's why they don't understand why Trump won, he was an outsider, and he's probably going to win again for the exact same reason, most don't even care about the far-right and their stupid religious ideas, we just want change. People are getting fed up with the status quo of the woke commiefornia being the center of the media/entertainment world. Change will happen as hollywoke burns to the ground.

2408.  @PixelSubstream  you cannot learn to code in 4 years, it takes an entire decade to start to get good, people have no idea how absurdly hard it is, anyone can do simple mathematics like trigonometry, but being a mathematician is an entire different game. The demand for programmers was never that high to begin with, it was companies with 0% interest money just inflating the number of workers to prove that they're growing. Those weren't even doing anything useful. Now its all gone because 0% interest money isn't there. Also, Elon musk firing 85% of XTwitter and the thing still work as badly as before showed how bad people working there were. Real programmers aren't being replaced with AI, data entry clerks are, and frontend developers that create user interfaces, something that could already be automated without even using AI if people weren't that stupid. But C-suit managers need people to manage to justify their salary , even if their entire task is useless and could have been replaced by software already. Also the entire job of frontend is basically keep changing the interface of a site for no good reason every 6 months, its just busy work. Of curse the media is going to try to push, you learn how to code. But the quasm between 6 figures and them earning barely $30K/y is going to be brutal, and they're never going to be given the tasks that move you from a mere coder to becoming an engineer. How many technicians fix cars versus how many engineers work creating the cars, that's what's going to happen.

2456. Ice-cores are a lie. CO2 is also a lie. CO2 follows temperature, not the other way around. They confuse causation with correlation. We do have a problem of urban warming, its caused by the stup1d way we build our "modern" cities. I realized that when I stepped in my car and drove away to the countryside, temperatures drop, in fact, if you plot a map with enough resolution and stop looking at "global averages" (what a stupid concept) you're going to see hot spots exactly like our night-light pollution in the Earth. The CO2 was another lie created by civilization to control all the other humans and all the lifeforms, because all of them emit CO2 while breathing. And the ice-cores are also a lie because there's also ice-cores taken from the bottom of the ocean near Europe and it tells a completely different history. The hubris of this civilization, while "antique" ones knew about he thousands of years Milankovich cycles of warming and ice ages. The Sun controls the temperature on this planet, nothing else is of importance. This entire idea of "climate change" is just another way of trying to control the entire climate of the planet to our will, we don't like it changing because then we have to adapt. We want to control it. That's why I refuse it, there's no "climate change", there's just us murdering every species and polluting things, the climate isn't changing, we're making the planet uninhabitable with our actions, and no, its not burning fossil fuels that's the problem, the problem isn't CO2, the problem is everything else, like killing ecosystems with oil spills. Our technology is also so ridiculous and not made to last, that in less than 1000 years there won't be much geological evidence if we just disappeared now, everything would crumble very fast, not even our concrete would last as the Roman concrete. Maybe what would be left is some blobs of molten radioactive metals of our hubris of trying to create our own power source like the Sun.

2691.  @infinitykiyen6270  I like to make a parallel with modernity. I imagine we can counter all climate-change: 1. water level starts rising : just raise cities or build barriers, its literally done for centuries by now. Every city that's older than 400y has evidence in its foundation that they were meticulously risen by the engineers. 2. ice melts: ice melts, so what, people from the classical period would just say : great ! free drinkable pure water, lets drink it. 3. stronger winds : make stronger buildings and make things out of concrete instead of wood. 4. it gets hotter : there's this : A/C . there are literally 10M people living in the middle of a desert right now , their oil might run out, but their A/C can be powered from nuclear sources. is that even a problem ? 5. severe storms : well, don't build in storm prone areas, or build stronger buildings. BUILD DAMS, we can build DAMS, ahhhhhh 6. loss of species : all big fauna is not really necessary for life to thrive, cry more. Its the humans that have empathy and feelings, life is 99% bacteria and they're already adapted to this so called "changed climate", bacteria only live about a couple of days, nothing kills the bacteria biomass. Its us humans that feel sad, put the animals in a zoo for people to see them, no one really cares. We have dogs and cats, why would you all want to have more pets. want to save all species. We could domesticate them, then they would be preserved by the forces of markets ! yes I said that, cancel me. Well, it seems some Malthusians want the Earth to be a zoo, not Coruscant, the One City, the center of our Space Empire. What's the point of having nature if there are no humans to see them either way ? The fun thing is that 99.999% of the species that ever lived on this Earth are dead. I like the humans because I think we're one of the few that crossed the Great Filter, to bad for the others that went extinct, life's hard you know, maybe they should have invested in brains instead of claws. 7. lack of food : only if the stupid globalist/neoliberals keep interfering in the commerce to CAUSE IT. They're literally saying to us "Let them eat cake". People from other times would know what to do. We could just kill them, it solves the problem, just a small bomb in davos (I'm kidding). Just ignore the Agenda 2030, and don't comply with anything there. Also, We make our food with our own energy. We could artificially grow all the food we wanted in the parking lots of our cities, or in the empty office buildings. It only requires energy : which we take from Nuclear ! If people are hungry its because of politics, not lack of food, its impossible to have lack of food with the modern knowledge and technology, that only happens because some people want that to happen. It seems like a simple problem to solve, get rid of those person, how hard is that ? getting rid of the evil people. If this Western empire falls its because it committed suicide. Never in the history of history an empire though of itself as "bad" and started to flagell itself, what a ridiculous concept. I think humans are fundamentally good, screw the Malthusians and the Misanthropes. Sometimes I think they are a bunch of druids mad at human civilization. Fuck them ! if they want to die, they can kill themselves. Vote for me for the Cesar Empire of America. Enough with the republic and the decadence and hedonism ! If modern civilization falls, its because of a lack of moral / lack of vision, not because of stupidity like "climate change". Heck we literally countered the plague !

2835. 27:52 zoomers are such pussies. I'm a millennial and I saw the boomers be like: worked 5 years and bought a house. I was like whatever, worked 15 years and bough a house, I didn't complain, well I got major depression and got addicted to SSNRIs as a cope, but then I quit my terrible job, maaned up and opened my business. Zoomers just have to shut up and work 30 years for it, there's no other way. Just like my grand-grand-parents had to do, they didn't complain, they worked, and I follow their steps, I shut-up and work, it could be better (probably never will), but it can get much much worse. Things keep getting worse because zoomers keep entering the political arena and voting for socialism instead of being strong and voting for meritocratic conservatism. You asked for it, now shut the head down and work, you don't deserve anything from the world, you have to work for it, and it is not fair that the boomers had it easy, so what, stop crying. As they say "Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times". If the zoomers are complaining is because its not thaat hard of the times, it will get worse for the next generation, but that will be a strong one, because I'm preparing to birth that generation myself, and my peers, and most of the remaining good millennials, really, the zoomers were really a lost generation. The older I get, the older I realize : boomers were right, and I become more conservative, I side with them and try to learn the much as I can before they die.

2853. "As for AI safety, at this point I distrust anyone saying AGI should be limited to governments and megacorps. I would rather everyone have access to AGI than just the oligarchs that already rule us only having exclusive access to them" That's what I also think. Safety "FOR WHOM" the government ? must be, they're afraid of people having that power in their hands. Imagine if every single human had a meta-cortex in behind their desks able to increase their IQ to 130. That's the end of governments, if everyone were 130 IQ, we would be able to self-organize without needing any governmental structure. And good luck with banning that when a $4000 GPU will have enough AI power to outcompete 90% of humans, there's no controlling that. They can only ban the training of massive models, but the Chinese is not bound to them and do what they want, they are now training and releasing open source models. And they can ban big companies with centralized resources, but if we create a grass-roots, like the Seti program, with millions of distributed GPU training AI, we can have a free model that benefit humanity. Free for all. No, AI isn't like "nukes", its not dangerous for humanity, it is dangerous for the overlords that control humanity. Are they going to ban us from buying GPUs ? good luck with that, its like making illegal to own guns, does that stop people from obtaining them, no. Do they think they can control general purpose computing ? of course not. They might try to make everything like an iPhone, totally closed. But then this create the incentives to jail-break the thing. And this sort of technology will make the cost of semiconductors fall, so for $200K I just print my own lithography for my own GPU that's open hardware. Genie is out the lamp. Its already too late, they don't want to regulate for safety, no, they just want to protect the investments of companies like OpenAI from competitors. It was never about safety. Eventually the models are either going to leak or someone will figure out how to force them to train the next open model (lots of humans are still smart than the model, we can hack it and make it leak information). Having a closed model is a liability, you spend a lot of cash training it, only for it to become obsolete or get copied the next year. OpenAI is so done, it is going to be out-competed by the sum of all open models.

2962.  @paranoyd70  "I personally believe that a man does owe a woman a better life (wihin reason) if she is the bearer of his children" NO, the kid owes a better life, not the woman. They wanted equality, now they have, equality of responsibilities. The woman also have the same responsibility to the kid, they owe a better life to the kids. A man don't owe woman anything, why would they own the woman anything only because she carried the kid ? What do they think they did it for ? for the kid itself obviously, and for the good of society at large. Woman go pretending like if it was the job of a life making a kid, like come on, my grandmother made 12 kids, she never complained about any of that bullshit, she was super strong. What do you want for a biological function of your body (making a kid is what the woman's body is for), a medal ? its not that big of a deal, I could have a surrogate for $100K if I wanted, if I marry a woman she gets automatically half of a house, it is much more expensive what they earn from a divorce than the market price of a pregnancy. Like com on, what kind of f*ckery is this. if I make a kid and I own things to the woman, then the kid is rightfully mine and only my name goes to the kid, and only I register the kid, and the woman is free to go to the streets. Now, being serious, I want much more than that, I want commitment. She only deserves a better life if I get commitment for an entire life, otherwise she only deserves the streets. No one really deserves anything, that's not a fair deal, you have to give to receive, that's where we went wrong.

3029.  @TwinMcQuerns "Communism is pooling everyone's resources and trusting the people to only take the resources they need." Polling everyone's resources in a centralized place, so it can be easily stolen by the party's members. All in the name of "people taking what they need", or 'helping' the poor. " Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? " 'No!' says the man in Washington, 'It belongs to the poor.' 'No!' says the man in the Vatican, 'It belongs to God.' 'No!' says the man in Moscow, 'It belongs to everyone.' I'm Ayan Rand, I refuse that. It seems stupid dumber Karl Marx never ever heard of greed . What a dumb guy, oh, he wrote about the failures of capitalism, everyone knew that by 1900 after the financial crisis started showing. It was in everyone's faces. What a jerk. Anyone could write that crap about laizes-faire capitalism. Communism is stupid, it goes against human nature and its not fair and its NEVER going to work. It all starts because of envy. Why should others have things that I don't have. Lets "pool" their resources... That's stealing, on an industrial scale being done by the State. "In every country this has been tried the result is massive corruption from the top down and ultimately starvation and collapse." Precisely. Why do we have to keep debating this ? If anyone declares themselves as a communist or ever speak Marxism bullcrap, we should OSTRACIZE them like when a Nazi do it. Its on the same level (actually Communism killed more, but we stop counting when it passes 1M) Can we all agree to punch nazis and commies ? equality as hard ?

3036. That only works for mothers, when woman are after their motherly period they're as brutal as as cruel as a man can be. Man compete with man of other tribes. Woman compete with woman for on their own tribe, they're basically traitors. The day I realized that was the day my mother and my neighbors wife basically tried to put my father and my neighbor (which is an older man than me, the age of my father) against each other. And I as an young man was ready to escalate the fight, I could see my fight instincts kicking in, but I'm not that young anymore (I'm 35), so my fully rational mind kicked after that and I could see clearly as day what was happening. My father wasn't buying the shit woman tried to create, nor was my neighbor who was being attacked verbally by my mother (for stupid reason like trash on the street, or some boring woman thing like that, who cares where the trash is on the street, its going to be picked up). Later I even apologized to my neighbor. Now I see this happening in large scale at entire societies, its why the West civilization is being conquered and corrupted by its enemies. I finally understood why Christianity put man on the command of the house, not woman. Woman should not be in position of power where they can control a lot of man, they're totally machiavely and evil and they will act in self-defense for themselves (and their own infants, aka, their "protected group"), at the detriment of the entire tribe/family/country/whatever. Woman are absolute monsters when they're given the power of modern military machinery, just wait and see what they're going to do. They're traitors by nature.
