  1. my family's originally from the USSR, and my paternal grandparents had a GAZ-21 that they bought in 1963. They said that they had to borrow money from every family member in order to buy it, and the reason why they chose it over the Lada or other affordable options is that, due to the high price, there was no multi-year long queue to receive one.
