Was so angry that they went through so much effort to lighten the car, be aerodynamic, make it useless as a daily driver, but then throw that all away with speed.

What got me is that they were driving over 70mph. You can reliably beat EPA estimates just by driving 60mph, and they clearly showed video where they were over 70.

@punnequraq the automatic was a cvt. While good for city driving due to optimal ratios, in the highway when you have constant low rpm in a single gear, it's worse due to added inefficiencies to the belt drive.

Wonder how much mpg you get without making the car impractical for daily driving, just by cruising at 40mph, not trying to maintain highway speed.
