I think a good solution would be to have a "break-away" section of the barrel by the chamber, a sort of "key", where if the chamber pressures reach such a pressure that it would blow off the back, just short of that (let's say 80%), the metal in the barrel would break away in a specific hole, and relieve that excess pressure.
