Yeap. If there isnt a treaty, we can decide anytime to just disallow them from docking or landing. That would be inconvenient. But if you read the details - its just a place to stop by, refill their supplies and refuel. Its not "their military base".

You underestimated their ability to get bread within their own country, without needing any extra bread from overseas.
13
Yeap. Thats how it works in the ghetto as well, you get one gang to protect you from another gang.
6
Yeap. its basically the same problem. If you are Philippines, are you going to bet on Russia to come and save you? Or would USA be the more likely major power to help you if China becomes even more aggressive? Its not a choice. Russia is not dependable. Not for Philippines. Vietnam learnt that in the Sino-Vietnamese War - and USSR (Russia) lost a lot of credibility in the eyes of the Vietnamese.
5
Its not. Because you have to look at the constitution of China. 9 Dash Line is from the 13 Dash Line drawn by ROC (Taiwan). Thus it is sovereign territory/claim situation. China HAD to be aggressive if they want to enforce their claims. So in China's perspective, South China Sea is their's. Its not something to even debate or discuss about (in their eyes). To them, it is Philippines that is aggressive in staking claim in their China's territory.

CONGRATS! YOU WON THE DPA FIRST MEDAL~!

I entirely disagree with your assessment (or whereever you read it from). Indonesia's military is a joke largely too given the size of it - they have ZERO tensions between them. So you are fantasizing.
2
Its a logistic base. Its basically a dock that could dock maybe... 2 ships? Its a colonial era arrangement. But its UK's. American ships docks at Changi Naval Base.
2
Thank you so much!!!
2
Nuclear weapons can be fired from USA, deploying them in Philippines is meaningless. Its nearer to fire from Japan or South Korea. (not to mention nuclear submarines). So you dont have to worry about it.
2
Its not. As I said, China claim all of South China Sea. To China, its a sovereignty issue. Philippines claiming islands in their territory is aggression in the eyes of China.
2
@barryscott6222 Depends, because Singapore's national interests is different from USA's national interests. This is why, if you watch the previous video I talked about Singapore - you will see, just on Ukraine alone, Singapore is not even towing the same line as the western Europe now. Dont over simplify.
2
It will take a long time to build an audience for it. The channel is full of subscriber of ukraine war fans.
2
Okay, I will look into it.
2
Yeap. And they win the war anyway. Thus thats the wise position.

Not a kick. I'm not pro-anyone except Singapore. BUT, if you look from the perspective of Vietnam - they are doing exactly what I say about Philippines. Vietnam have no choice too. China have a long history of aggression against Vietnam. So Vietnam is extremely distrustful of China - same goes for North Korea or any other neighboring country to China.

Its the same shit as Palestinians becoming a "race" because of the land called Palestine. China is the name of the land mass east of the Himalayas all the way to the sea of Korea and Japan. Before China as a country appear - its simply known as the Qing Empire (and Ming Empire before that). Thus south of the land of China, is South China Sea. China does not refer to the country, by the land mass.
1
You missed the point. US will try to control. Philippines on the other hand, geopolitically speaking, dont have a choice. Unless you are suggesting that they should cede territory to China without contest.
1
Who says all ASEAN members are "okay" with China's claim of SCS. You need to read more.
1
- hug - Thanks~ Unfortunately you guys are stuck in the middle of great power competition. Philippines really had no choice. May war never happen~
1
1. its on the map 2. I already said, ASEAN countries arent fighting each other for the islands 3. Yes. Its on the map too. 4. Not just a blockade.
1
Pro-US? You need to rewatch again.

No one in Asia trust the Chinese... LOL This is why Singapore (as a majority chinese country) had to be SUPER NICE to everyone, while having a stupidly powerful military.
1
Yeah, actually thats what I touched alittle bit on - Philippines is a mainly infantry army with a serious insurgency problem. It doesnt have a military to fight foreign powers, and they need US to protect it. Duterte did try to pivot to China and Russia. It didnt work. China broke their promises.
1
Duterte tried, but he realised China is not a sincere partner - this is why Philippines reverted back to being a US protectorate. All the promised China investment never came either. Siding with US is not for no reasons. There is just no one else to depend on.
