@Lynne Lively As a Texan I don't trust Beto (although I'll vote for him since we couldn't get a real progressive) but THANK YOU for your comment on Ted Cruz, a phony Texan who sells us out every chance he gets. And as a Latino he's such a coconut he even pronounces his own name "Crews."

@catherinemacaskill1421 Yes. Whether Canadian or Stateside we all "have clowns in our politics" and whether here or there Cruz is among the worst of the worst. As a Texan I'm nauseated that my state got stuck with him but that doesn't mean I'd wish him on y'all.

This is far from the first time I've seen Ben Sasse emerge from the herd as an uncorrupted independent sound thinker. He's not just another Gop mindlessly following the party line; many Congressional Dems are more right-wing than Sasse. Nowadays nearly all so-called conservatives are actually just reactionaries or neocons; Sasse is a true conservative, like Eisenhower.

@LauraBeeDannon He didn't touch her. He posed over her as if WISHING he could. As jokes go it was in poor taste but it didn't justify his being hounded oui of the Senate so Gops who did ACTUAL offenses could remain in Congress AND be rid of him.
