Portland and Seattle just had their own version of this, in Portland the most radical member of the city council was up for reelection but now has to go to a run off because two conservative law & order candidates split 60% of the vote to her 40%, she will face the more hard core law & order of the two, she is widely expected to lose by about 60% to 40%. In Seattle late last year a Republican won the City Attorney race in a massive landslide. If the Dems are suffering landslide losses in places like San Francisco, Portland and Seattle then the November election will bring a red tsunami the likes of which no one has ever seen before.
