Overall he was one of the few good people Trump appointed, those who actually did their job, but on the Assange issue yes he was an absolute disgrace. 90% of the people Trump appointed should never have been appointed, the great weakness of Trump was his horrific instincts regarding those he hired and trusted.

Rand Paul and a few others will champion his case but they are too few, his only hope is that Trump wins in 2024 and fills his new administration with complete outsiders, only people I am 100% for him bringing back are Patel, Watnick, Zeinke, Grinnel, Carson, Kudlow and that last acting Defense Secretary whose name escapes me. He had a few others who overall were decent but had one or two glaring problems like Pompeo with Assange. I read Trump seriously considered pardoning him but a couple people like Pompeo talked him out of it.
