It already has stopped functioning, look how Colorado and other states just ignore SCOTUS rulings regarding 2A, the President ignores SCOTUS rulings, J6 political prisoners in jail three years without trial for what amounts to misdemeanors somehow made into felonies, people facing trials for political reasons not even allowed a jury trial in some cases and basically not allowed to offer evidence to defend themselves. Our Republic is hanging by a thread.
