  2. Remember Russia has a military doctrine of "escalate to deescalate" which is as dangerous as that sounds. Putin according to State Dept psychologists suffers from Hubris-Nemesis Complex, look it up, he is a poster child for it, he will do anything to avoid humiliation including start WW3. He would use tactical battlefield nukes to stop further advancement of Ukrainian troops, or hit key logistics nodes if things started to go really bad for Russia, that is what tactical nukes are for, NATO developed specifically to stop hordes of Russian tanks advancing through Germany.
