If China attacks Guam as a coordinated attempt to take Taiwan all of NATO is required to help us, that help could be substantial, there are seven non US NATO aircraft carriers and a very large submarine fleet and countries like Poland and Finland can field very large well trained armies. If the US left NATO then Russia would invade parts of Europe like the Baltics within five years and eventually we would get involved anyway just like WW1 and 2. Other outcomes would be Turkey would probably attack Greece(NATO keeps those two NATO countries peaceful) and China would be more likely to start WW3.Isolationists do not cause wars generally but the bullies see it as a sign of weakness and small wars become big ones.

  2. The thing is almost all the Eastern members do easily meet the requirements, its Western members that are the issue like Spain, Belgium, Germany etc.
