So if they get rid of him what then? Its past the deadline in several states to get him off the ballot and someone else on the ballot including in three vital swing states, they literally would be surrendering those states to Trump without a fight which would also effect down ballot races like Senate and House in those states. In order to have any chance to win they would need to sweep the remaining swing states but they are behind all of them in polling, some by double digits, in every poll that was remotely reliable in 2016 and 2020.
