God I would love to move back to a place like that and out of suburbia but I just cant see myself moving to a place like rural Colorado which is ruled by Denver and its insane extremist politics, same where I grew up in a little town in rural Oregon but is now ruled with a iron fist by radical Portland politicians that run the state. A huge part of the appeal of rural America is the freedom to do as you want but in places like Colorado or Oregon ruled by Denver and Portland politicians with their authoritarian ideology you cannot have that freedom. The 1960's SCOTUS decision that outlawed regional representation for State Senates (each county gets a Senator or two) eliminated any voice rural America has in its own affairs in places like Colorado that are dominated by a large urban center.
