Japan has indicated seems they would go to war to prevent Taiwan from falling because they feel their national security would be too damaged by Taiwan falling, if Japan goes to war there is no way the US would not, I could see the US Navy forcing the feckless Biden administration into defending Taiwan, if we do not the Western Alliance system falls apart.
