Here is a story idea, in the 1950's the town of Roseburg Oregon blew up, thanks to one idiot truck driver not following safety protocols. It was so powerful of an explosion it caused landslides several miles away.

@mattking993 It is accepted some were quarried no one is arguing that, they cannot explain away the chemical analysis
23
They always get that way, Egyptologists are the Luddites of the Science world, "all those fancy geologists and chemists with experiments and data pfft!"
19
@TodayIFoundOut Censorship, gee that never happens to anything that goes against Political Correctness
12
Exactly, people back then were completely irrational over Jackson, most of the common people loved him and most of the elite establishment hated him, kind of like Trump now, so it is hardly surprising some Jackson haters blamed him for returning fire.
11
@Bullshitvol2 He was even jailed at one point I think
9
He is disrepute at this stage
8
@bert8731 Or punching two Gestapo thugs
8
Its on display in Brookings to this day.
7
The infanticide theory has a huge flaw, many of the victims were adults, the positional thruster theory is the only one that covers all the bases
7
Patroclus and Ajax were both Achilles cousins.
6
@mattd6085 I do not think Egyptologists are "self correcting" they are the Luddites of Science
5
@theallseeingmaster Maybe at least that, two family members played in MLB so he has genetics and if he devoted him self to Baseball probably would have been far better, he was a good AA player with no real time or effort.
5
Yep 100% true, many scientists are absolute egoists and cannot imagine ever being wrong that is why debates on various theories are often very personal and absolutely vicious, an academic I know has called fellow academics a bunch of Heathers in reference to the classic teen movie about a bunch of mean girls.
4
That career batting average is more impressive when you consider his last season post surgery sucked stats wise bringing down those still very good career stats, think how good he could have been if he 100% dedicated himself to the game
4
@SMPKarma I am a firefighter I am completely OK with the amount of recognition we get and the military guys deserve everything they get and more, we are all brothers and sisters
4
They usually are, I have a degree in Archeology and my money is always on the hard sciences when there is a disagreement, do not argue with geological analysis and chemical analysis
4
It was SW Oregon not Central Oregon, I grew up here, I know where his ashes were scattered. He was a kind and honorable man.
3
Thank you for the recommendation, I will stock up on whiskey before I attempt that viewing

@Tronathon242 Thanks for the info

I am from Oregon so I knew Kurt was a fair Single A player back in the day from hearing stories but I had no idea that he played that many seasons Pro-Ball and no idea he was a NW League All Star and no idea he was good enough to go up to AA Ball and be good at that level as well before the injury, from his stats it sounds like he was destined for AAA ball just a step away from from the Major Leagues, my guess with his love of the game if he had made it to AAA, on the door step of the big leagues he would have took a couple years off acting to focus on ball and if he was good enough to climb to that level with it being a part time hobby I would not be shocked if he made it to the MLB, with two relatives making the MLB he obviously had the genetics. Shame about the injury, today he would have been put back together as good as new. One of the few good guys in Hollywood, his eras Keanu Reeves.

"Failed to mention option of sailing ships to neutral port or French overseas colonies" that has to be one of the biggest eff ups in the war, what an incompetent idiot.

Proud of my brother firefighters, I would love to see the Hungarian Big Wind machine in action, that is awesome.
1
Years (well over a decade) after it was proven Vikings were the first known Europeans to reach North America the schools were still teaching Columbus was first. Public schools suck.
1
God that is sad, what a wasted life that could have potentially achieved so much if he just had anyone to guide him

Luck does sometimes favor the foolish

OMG Simon you have never had Captain Crunch? You would go bonkers for Peanut Butter Captain Crunch, best cereal EVER! (I have not had Magic Spoon Peanut Butter)

@ruri5182 That is BS

Actually there are numerous fossil tracks found together of raptors indicating they may have hunted as a group, they were just as likely to be pack hunters as not based upon the evidence. As for intelligence my giant chickens (Belgian Liege Fighters) know their names and understand a couple basic commands, they are not brain surgeons but they are a whole lot smarter than a "board with a nail in it", as an example I have seen them work together to kill something to eat much like a pack or flock in their case so why would raptors not? Komodo dragons will even work together on occasions for real big prey and they are certainly not brain surgeons.

@faithnfire4769 9 fires is nothing to sneeze at, envy is ugly
1
Well I have an archeology degree and I am about 75% convinced he is right, the chemical analysis is actual hard scientific proof unlike the theories many Egyptologists invent in their heads.
1
Ya our history teachers suck
1
Too bad Israel did not declare him Righteous Among The Nations, there are people awarded that title who did less than what he did.
1
Our schools are garbage, I had to reteach my daughter how to do basic math.
1
Steve Job's was a horrible person and he is not in a good place
1
Oh ya, farther up the coast you several Mo's and in New port the Starfish Grill
1
Ya the unfinshed log thing has killed a lot of small Oregon timber towns, personally I would like to see it illegal to export raw logs when it puts so many out of work.
