  2. People have negative false beliefs about pit bulls because of the negative false narratives about them created by the media, this is 100% the medias fault, all the pits that are killed in shelters because they cannot get adopted are on the heads of the evil media.

  12. This is the reason I stopped having rats, I just could not handle their short lifespans, I have even moved away from having certain breeds of dogs that have very short lives. I wish rat breeders would work together with scientists to try to expand there short lives.

  14. Not true about all male groundhogs, Mr Chunk here on YT was fed by a guy, he lived under a storage shed, soon he was joined by a female and since then they have had 2 or 3 litters and they all stick together.

I have been involved in animal rescue for some time and I have seen so many dogs listed by shelters with "issues" they did not have, shelters REALLY need to do a better job on evaluations on dogs. The reason so many dogs are going into shelters is people losing their homes and rentals, in the last five years the average mortgage has gone up from $1300 a month to $3300 per month a 2.5times+ increase and rentals in some areas have gone up an equivalent percent in my area. In my area move in fees alone on rentals average over $5000. I ran into a couple with two full time jobs living in their van trying to save up for the move in fees then when they had it they could not find a place for months due to too few rentals available.

  24. At the wild animal park I volunteered at we used to give the lions bowling balls as cat toys, they would bust them pretty quickly, lol.

Serious question to those who run California shelters and the people of California, The Oregon Human Society shelter is one of the largest shelters in the nation and for dogs it is a no kill shelter barring extreme aggression or terminal illness (and extreme pain situations) and it is almost a no kill shelter as well for cats, they manage this while taking over flow populations from California and other places and with a MUCH lower potential adopter and foster population than California has, so if they can manage that why can't California and other places?

I was a big dog person, had the same attitude about little dogs, then one day we were at my sister in laws house and a brother in law looked out the window into the back yard and said "there is a rat dog out there" we went and got him, the girls gave the filthy starving tiny thing a bath. Next day we took him to the vet who estimated he was 15 years old, hardly any teeth, had the same thing with his tongue. He survived another 3 1/2 years and was the sweetest little boy, he loved everyone, hardly barked etc. Totally changed my mind about little dogs. Miss you Winkles.
