Putin fits the typical Russian's world view that they are better than their "lesser Slav" neighbors and have a right to rule over that entire area of the world, it is a very Nazi like attitude that is predominant in their culture, which makes it ironic they call everyone who is a political enemy a "Nazi", lots of projection going on. In addition the propaganda out of Russia is outstanding, even very smart people fall for their lies which they and their internet trolls repeat constantly, I have seen US Congress Members heartily condemn Russian actions then in the next breath unknowingly repeat Russian propaganda lies regarding the Ukraine situation.

Like almost all Bills in DC the Ukraine Aid Bill was BS, things like Patriot systems moved to Poland were included in this, Ukraine itself will only see a small % of this money, and even less to Ukrainian Defense, to put that in perspective that $800 million for Ukraine's actual defense would buy ten, yes only ten F-35 fighters with not a dime to maintain them or outfit them with weapons. Other countries have been far more generous to Ukraine than the US when you account for budget size of each country.
