  1. I am surprised it was lost in the remote Kuril Islands, I would have thought that would be a refuge for it. I have always been fascinated by the Ainu. Since it is an isolate I wonder if it and the people have any strong connection to the now "extinct" North Eurasian race who passed their genes on to both some European groups and Siberian groups including Native Americans.

I am in your situation, I have lost everyone around over the last few years that speak Gaelic, my child only has interest in learning words for this and that but not really the language, I am losing the ability to speak it since I have no one to talk to, I try to listen to Gaelic radio so I can at least hear it.
