Look at Alaska, massive size, rich soil, midnight sun, have you ever seen the crops they grow in Alaska with that midnight sun and rich soil? They look like something from a movie, they are massive. As long as Alaska sticks to crops with a short growing season yes they could become a Ag powerhouse in several crops and that comes from a family friend who has a PhD in Ag Science.

@vice.nor.virtue That is not always the way climate shifts work, often warmer temps mean MORE rain due to more evaporation, historically that holds true in most areas of the world, except the Western US which apparently was wetter rather than drier during the Ice Age for some reason, probably ocean current changes. An example of this is the Middle East and Mediterranean basin, they were warmer and wetter during the Minoan Warm Period which ended around the time of the Bronze Age collapse when it became cooler and drier damaging agriculture in the region. The US Midwest may get more rain if it continues warming but yes Alaska stands to benefit, they already have rich soil and the Midnight Sun in the Summer that produces massive sized vegetables and fruits from all that sunlight, they just have to specialize in crops with a short growing season.

@Sackmatters Ownership means its yours and you get to do what you want, I live in a state where the local tribe wants to log THEIR land and the state stopped them so it goes both ways, the state here had no right to stop them from using their land unless they could prove it damaged other land owners (they could not).

Give the Kuril Islands and Sakhalin to Japan after Russia loses WW3 which they are going to start. Russia deserves to be severely punished for their constant attacks on their neighbors, it needs to lose some chunks of land like Karelia and the Kurils to learn a lesson.

Do not forget Turkey's arch enemy Greece is close to Armenia and the large and politically influential Armenian diaspora in the US. That whole area is a mess alliance wise, NATO cannot trust Turkey who are frenemies with Russia, if Turkey ever leaves or is booted by NATO for being an authoritarian dictatorship then Armenia will be inviting in NATO in a heartbeat and Greece will be pushing for Armenia and Georgia.
