Mark Twain said something like "History may not repeat itself but it sure does rhyme a lot", we are in the 1930's again with most Western countries militaries shrunken and ill prepared for full scale war, just replace authoritarian expansionist Russia, Islamist Iran and Communist China for Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy and Imperial Japan. I think when history books write about this period Olaf Scholz and Biden are not going to come out looking much better than Neville Chamberlain did. Keep in mind the US has 3450 Abrams in mothballs alone yet only gave 31 of them to Ukraine, they refuse to send any helicopters or planes including the 21 old Mig-29's the US owns. Scholz and Biden's constant pearl clutching about not escalating the war may not be on par with Chamberlain handing over a good chunk of Czechoslovakia but its not going to age well.
