If a third world country was as hostile to free speech and other basic rights and as aggressive towards opposition parties as the UK and Germany are the US and Europe would be scolding them and slapping sanctions on them. Lets just be very clear about this, America is done with left wing authoritarianism and its war on free speech, political opposition groups etc. When you start talking about outlawing political parties, cancelling elections and arresting people for "mean" tweets we are done with you, there is no reason for us to defend you or trade with you. To paraphrase a quote from Black Adder, "you are the baddies".
