  1. I have heard recently Portland called West Detroit and West Beirut, both are accurate, it is a collapsing dystopia of crime and filth, it was a beautiful city not that long ago. I have worked in law enforcement at local, state and Federal agencies, I worked at both local and federal agencies in the Portland metro area and yes cartels are active in the area selling drugs, guns, car theft etc. I live 45 minutes from the city in a deep red GOP county, I can tell you it is NOT getting better unless you mean it is "better" than the constant 2020 riots. The biggest single issue is the local DA who refuses to prosecute criminals bit will prosecute anyone that defends themselves from a criminal.

  2. Partially true, almost no one conservative runs for office so they have no option. When given the option they have, for instance a recent city council seat had the incumbent super radical leftist, a moderate hard on crime candidate and a hard core hard on crime candidate and he won. In Mayor's race it was more typical they had a nutty leftist incumbent vs an admitted Marxist Antifa supporter who lost big.

  3. But it is NOT Oregon, go thirty minutes outside Portland and it gets very red very quick, one congressional district that borders Portland is +13 GOP. Portland has just grown so big from California and East Coast immigration it politically can out vote the whole rest of the state, same thing in Washington with Seattle and Colorado with Denver. These people flee California with all its problems then vote the same way.
