I am a hardcore Conservative Trump supporter but I do not get this radical isolationist streak regarding Ukraine among many in the GOP, did no one else pay attention in history class of what happens when you ignore or worse appease people like Putin, we only need to look back to the 1930's to see what happens, Neville Chamberlain ring a bell? Yes we are hurting BAD in this country but how does sending 20, 30, 40 year old equipment we have had in storage for years sometimes decades hurt us? Because that is what 90% of the equipment is, look into it, we have 3450 Abrams just in long term storage as an example. Those billions listed as aid to Ukraine are largely bogus, they already got caught at the pentagon grossly inflating values, eating up the aid package by $6 billion and its MUCH worse if you research it. Forty year old M113's that are now worth only $25k on the open market thanks to depreciation the Pentagon was billing the Ukraine aid package at $300k per unit because that is what they would cost to build now, total theft like with the $300 hammers the Pentagon bought. Those M113's are not being replaced they already were decades ago by the Stryker which itself is scheduled to be replaced. There is also $12.5 billion in double billing, $7.5 billion in NATO projects Ukraine will not benefit at all from and more in those aid packages to Ukraine, all documented. The non military aid and non humanitarian aid, financial aid part promised to Ukraine to keep their economy from collapsing is vital, if their economy collapsed it would create the biggest refugee crisis in human history, that said the financial aid part is also misleading, we have hardly given them a dime yet, they are forced to go to Wall Street and borrow at today's high interest rates based on the promise of that aid in the future basically collateral (I am sure some politicians will get some pay backs from Wall Street for putting Ukraine in such debt). Russia has been doing this crap to its neighbors for the last 500 years, they invaded their neighbors 7 times since the Soviet Union fell, since no one does anything so they just keep doing it. President Trump was highly critical of Obama refusing to even sell Ukraine any weapons to defend itself after the 2014 invasion, a arms embargo President Trump lifted the minute he got in office and his hard line on that issue is the reason he is the ONLY President since the Soviet Union fell in which Russia has not invaded a neighbor during their term in office. Bottom line, ask your self the moral question if a woman or child was being attacked by some big man on the other side of the street would you ignore it and say its not my problem and walk on by? Because that is the exact moral equivalent of the Ukraine issue.
