Before people start throwing around racism accusations as the reason, keep in mind the biggest country music artist ever for decades in sales of records was Charlie Pride who was Black, biggest artist today arguably in Country over the last decade plus is Darius Rucker who is Black. Biggest new artist the last couple of years is Cane Brown who is Black, so just STOP with the racism insinuations folks. People in country music have been used by pop artists both to get a start in the music business only to abandon the genre, think Taylor Swift and to revive flagging careers in pop so please excuse us that are both fans of the country music genre and in the business for being HIGHLY skeptical of someone like Beyonce who as a wealthy urbanite probably actually feels nothing but derision for rural Americans and country music. Someone who happened to be Black from rural America or for that matter even from another country that wanted to explore the country music genre would be welcomed with open arms but Beyonce? not so much. This is about suspicions of being taken advantage of and the huge and growing cultural divide between wealthy urbanites and working class rural and small town Americans.
