A lot of things that would normally be considered healthy are not anymore due to over processing to achieve high profits. Bread is a great example, you just need 3ish ingredients to make it, but if you look at the ingredients list in store bread you will find there are many more. The term processed foods typically refers to corporate processing now a days, not typical refining/preserving methods. It’s strange how the meaning of words changes overtime.

Diversity is the key to good health, both diverse food, and movement (excluding junk food)

Good points, although I would like to add that both plants and animals evolved from the same common ancestor, and just because we don’t understand the way they evolved to feel and communicate doesn’t make them any less related to us than animals. Life must consume life, unfortunate but true. Corporate farming practices are atrocious though, and should be ended as soon as possible. We need to implement laws that limit how big a farm can get, and how far they can ship their product, so we encourage less processed local grown/raised food.

While I agree with you that todays political correctness literally kills our humanity. I also believe he did give a pretty clear cut answer in that, humans evolved to eat everything, as such if you want to be healthy as possible you should strive to eat as diversely as possible.

The most important aspect of a healthy diet is diversity, if you eat diversely then you will also have a vast and diverse store of nutrients. Most nutrients can be more efficiently gathered from plants, so it would make sense that people who strictly eat local grown plants would be healthier than the rest of the world eating junk food, but others are better gathered from meat, it’s important to eat everything and not limit yourself from potential benefits. (Excluding junk food which only has the benefit of moving wealth from the 99% to the 1%)

Very true about corporate America, just remember when it comes time to vote that both demarcates and republicans support corporations because that’s who funds their campaigns. If a socialist is an option it’s our best bet to get power back to the people. I don’t know what your diet was like before, but I sudden increase in plants will help you feel a lot better due to the amount and diversity of nutrients you can get from them. Though there are some that you will still want to get from meat if you can find good quality, primarily to support muscle development but also nervous system including brain performance.

Both plants and animals evolved from the same common Ancestor, and while we don’t understand the way plants evolved to feel and communicate, it doesn’t make them any less alive then us or animals. Life must consume life, unfortunate but true. We should however vastly change the way we produce both plants and animals to be less harmful and more sustainable. Corporate farming is atrocious and both sides.

@MB-gm6kg human knowledge of nervous systems and sentience is astonishingly low, it would be no surprise if plants and even bacteria have their own unique form of consciousness that we simply don’t understand yet. Also the Indians lived in harmony with nature while also consuming meat, there were ~30-60 million buffalo in America before European settlers came and started destroying everything. If we farm/hunt/gather our food responsibly America has plenty of land to support everything. At least if we put an end to urban sprawl and start using land efficiently. I myself have considered starting an ethical animal farm in order to slightly reduce corporate farming, but due to the highly competitive nature of capitalism and the need to great excess value in order to feed your family I have not been able too. Instead right now I am currently considering a degree in urban development/political science to get into local government and start fixing our zoning laws to free up space and creat affordable housing.

@jousis_ the EU always gets all the cool stuff, it’s almost like they actually care about there citizens, though from an American perspective that’s impossible.
1
@jousis_ your precisely right, American is run by corporations, it’s time for people to take the power back but corporations will do anything in their power to stop that.

Everything under capitalism exist because it Maximizes profit, that’s what you get from capitalism. GMOs can be used for good as well, like when we use them to increase the drought resistance of plants so they can be grown in less hospitable places to feed starving people. Humans have been modifying plant and animals DNA to suit our needs for century’s, before we just selectively breed the plants, but GMOs allow us to be more precise to get the benefits we need. Or if given to corporations it’s used to get bigger, better tasting, nutrient void produce, not good.

Vegetables are gross, but humans are indeed omnivores. I have the super tasting gene which really amplifies the bitter taste in vegetables, but through continuous effort to overcome this I am actually able to pallet quit a few vegetables now, perhaps you have the same problem. You need meat and plants to get your body to peak performance.

It’s important to eat both plants and meat, the proportions of which will vary based on your body goals.
