College costs didn’t rise because of subsidies. It was the banks lobbying Congress for deregulation that pushed prices up. Do I really need to spell out how student loans were bundled into securities and sold off as guaranteed income, just like mortgages before the 2008 crash? The same government that subsidized those loans also made sure they couldn’t be discharged in bankruptcy. Who did that benefit? Maybe the same banks handing out the loans and the investors raking in risk-free interest. While global rates hovered near zero, student loans stayed at 3% or higher—easy money for years. Michael, do yourself a favor. Learn how the economy actually works and stop regurgitating nonsense about subsidies being the real problem.

@voicefromthedark-t2w Yea, he thinks spouting this misinformation will get him in good graces with the conservatives in Palm Beach. I think he is a little late to the party. The country as a whole is starting to see through the nonsense.
