  1. Our American automakers are not making cars people want to buy. Simply slapping tariffs to make imports more expensive doesn't solve that issue. Let's be honest. The tariffs are so a few USA companies who can't compete on the global stage can still make money at home by forcing USA consumer hands, limiting choice. It's about protecting billionaires.
