  1. I'd still spring for the Ford 7.3 as it has port injection. DFI just means carbon buildup and if you've been following up on those Ecotec V8 motors you'll know they carbon up so badly the heads need to be removed and cleaned. Ford also has a dual injection system in their other V8 motors. I don't care about 1 MPG better. I care about reliability and longevity. It needs to start and run the same with 300k on it with regular maintenance of course.

  2. The engine has a 150k life span. The engineers even said so. They mounted a timing chain in the rear. Add in DPF, DEF and all of the failures that come with those systems and this truck seems totally unappealing.
