  1. It's simple in terms of features and the design but as with any German car it's very complicated under the hood thus it's still going to be expensive to fix even though this car doesn't provide the usual refinement a German car has.

  2. I didn't say German cars are for quick backyard jobs did I? What's the point in buying a cheapo German car, this A3, for a premium price when it will cost around the same to maintain as a proper German car like an A4 or equivalent or higher when it doesn't provide the same refinement higher up German cars have. Anyone who buys the Audi A3 is just driving it for the badge and not for the actual German car experience.
