  1. I had a 94 Corolla. Slow as shit, totally basic and completely cookie cutter but that's what made it so good. Manual everything, cassette player and had working A/C. It was cheap to maintain and it never ever failed me. Toyota should have a sporty Corolla though with a proper 6 speed auto or manual, good suspension and powerful engine.

  2. Bottom line: It sucks horse dick. I'd drive an old Corolla before I drive this new one. I used to own a 94 Corolla and whiles it was slow it was still a better built car than this new Corolla. The older Corolla was also quieter and remained squeak and rattle free throughout it's lifetime, no way in hell will this new one do that with all that cheap plastic.

  3. Some people are happy not showering for weeks and living in their own filth so it's not about happiness it's about what makes sense. You have to draw the line somewhere and owning a new Corolla is crossing it. I understand what a basic compact car is supposed to do but it's almost as if Toyota is giving a big FU to their loyal customers with this Corolla and it's horrible build quality and outdated powertrain. Give me a bland but still better 201 Nissan Sentra which is refined for a compact.
