Bad move on Acura's part. The TL was considered the bread and butter of the Acura line up but now since it's going to replace the TSX also it almost waters down the appeal of the TL. Now the new TLX will have to be made cheaper to appeal to TSX buyers but also have to fill the performance category the previous TL filled with the SH AWD model. Before I waste money on this new watered down TL I would just spring for a V6 Accord which is still an Accord and probably the best Accord yet.

senorgato70 Acura TL sales numbers tell the full story. Look at how well the 3G sold and look at how well the 4G sold. With the competition cranking out at least 330HP for the same price also is an indicator that Acura's not trying. My Dad's 2010 SH AWD performs well but it plagued with squeaks and rattles and other owners on the forum share his sentiments. Also, Honda is still messing up with their ATs as TC issues are still present. Acura's flagship is a FWD barge that might be reliable but doesn't offer any kind of excitement. I love the 3G and the old Legend but Acura has officially gone bonkers.

senorgato70 High 4s? Well the diehards dropped the ball on this one. Hondas have no torque so how in the hell it will hit 60 in the high 4s isn't really fathomable although we'll soon know. I know HP is just half the battle but with the way the 4G was done I have little faith they can pull it off this time. Again, the 3G was still the best and has proven to be the most reliable of the bunch. If Acura can match the level of the 3G again I'll be glad.

tingokuman The 6 speed is not a CVT at least in the V6 model. At least the Honda Accord kept going forward with each generation. The last TL added quite a bit of performance but added too much unrefined aspects such as a herky jerky 5 speed auto which had TC issues, a harsh ride and noisy highway ride. Acura's solution to that is to water down the TL enough so it appeals to TSX buyers and then add more trims for those who want the top of the line model. I don't understand that since the TL is supposed to be in a different league than the TSX. Look at how many die hard 3G fans there are but then look at 4G fans, they can't wait for a new Acura or get into another car.

tingokuman The firm ride in the 3G was good and balanced like that of a 3 Series or sport package Benz but they went overboard in the SH AWD especially when equipped with the 19s. The 4G was lacking sound deadening so road noise was a tad too high. Letting in VTEC sound is fine because that motor is smooth and sounds great. Acura needs to knock it out of the park with this car. They had every opportunity to make the RL and RLX and exciting car but I've yet to see one on the road.
