  1. The first gen 4.6is models were my favorite of the X5. Great handling for an SUV but throw on some winter tires and they were also beasts in the snow. The older M62 motors were quirky but once you looked into the VANOS system and cooling system issues under the hood was pretty solid. Also, can't forget the gauge cluster pixels going out.
