  1. I don't mind the CVT in a Sentra, Versa or one of the basic SUVs like the Rogue or Qashqai but why do that to a premium level SUV? It's not like Nissan/Infiniti doesn't see how much the CVT is disliked. Even if, for argument's sake, the CVT lead to better fuel mileage how much better would the mileage from CVT be compared against a properly geared 8 speed auto? There are phenomenal 8 speed units from Aisin or ZF and having that 8 speed automatic would give off a far more sporty and premium characteristic which is what Infiniti is usually known for.
