  1. Just change the oil often and keep an eye on the level between changes. Timing chains only go bad on these because they had a tendency to burn oil and ran low on it between changes. That smaller amount of oil ended up running too hot, lost it's lubricating and cooling properties and causes the chain to run hot stretching it.
