Dedicated winter tires when the snow starts to fly is better than those all year round AT or AS tires. They may have an M+S rating but nothing beats dedicated winters. I was literally speeding past everybody on an unplowed highway during a snowstorm last month. As a matter of fact I went above the speed limit because it's not like Police would be able to pull me over anyway.
