@rogerfroud300 An EV could go that mileage but none will be manufactured to do so. EVs, sadly, will become the iPhones of the automotive industry and will be remotely shut down by the manufacturer forcing you into another one.

Honestly if you want comfy and Toyota simplicity/reliability then go for an Avalon. They're spacious, quiet and have that old school comfy straight line effortless highway ride perfect for vast North American roads plus the V6 motor moves that car without issue. No fancy tech, just practical features that work.

@technox8166 You're talking about reselling when that's not on the itinerary for the owner? The owner will be keeping it so why are you shoehorning that into this scenario? Anyway, the majority of the population thinks the way you do which is both unfortunate and fortunate. Unfortunate in the sense that people are ass deep in debt because they want the latest and the greatest but fortunate, for people like me, you always come back and buy a vehicle from me. I work in automotive sales and people like you keep me in business.

It's part protection from debris and splash protection. Sometimes they use it for aerodynamics and sound deadening as well.

Yep simple jobs turning into big ones. Story of my life. If mechanics had a dedicated dictionary it would be mostly filled with expletives.

Weirdly enough the air suspension on the Porsche Cayenne holds up really well. The rest of the vehicle not so much (especially cooling parts) but the air suspension outlasts the car.

@technox8166 I appreciate guys like you for other reasons. Because they have to have the latest and fanciest, they literally will trade in their perfectly running vehicle for a new one. We end up making money on them twice because they buy the new vehicle and we sell their trade for several thousands more than what we gave them for it. In some cases they owed more money on their trade than it was worth so it got added to their new vehicle financing/lease cost so we get a huge kickback from the financing company because their interest rate is so high.

These are fantastic automobiles but I always say "Take the Mercedes approach". Treat this car as if it is a much more complicated and unreliable Mercedes. That way you will be far more thorough in finding flaws in an example you want to buy.

I have 2012 Mercedes Benz C300 with 162,000 kms and a 2007 Nissan Sentra with 244,000 kms and both run great. Preventative maintenance and knowing a car's weak spots make all the difference. Religious oil changes, tune ups every 100,000 kms and change fluids at regular intervals and keep up on wear and tear components like suspension and brakes. Also, ignore those "lifetime" fluids. That's just a load of nonsense especially when it comes to Nissan's CVT fluid. I change it every 50,000 kms and it's black every time I drain it although the transmission (the original one too). I'm confident both of those cars will take me well into this decade.

I never even knew this part existed. Good video.

Uh oh. I put Fel Pro valve cover gaskets on our Chevy Silverado with a 350 in it. It's no longer leaking but I'm wondering if it will hold.
