  1. I wouldn't say the fuel economy is that bad. There are cars that have little power but burn tons of fuel because their little motor has to work really hard to get things moving. The first gen BMW X5 3.0 and W211 Mercedes Benz E350 4 MATIC come to mind. Their smaller motors powering heavy vehicles and all 4 wheels make for terrible fuel economy. At least these higher powered vehicles pull great.
