Well I like the MB TEX seats as they do last a long time and look/feel mostly like leather. Newer MBZ cars do feel a bit more plastic inside though, they're well assembled but the materials and controls doesn't have that heft or precise feel to it. I understand we're in a new era where weight saving and fuel economy is the name of the game but I'll gladly sacrifice a few MPGs for good solid and heavy build quality.

Yeah old MBZ cars are rock solid. We had a W126 420SEL for 16 years and even though it was expensive to run as all MBZ cars it was well worth it. Excellent ride and everything oozed quality about it. It might sound weird but I loved when I closed the doors and it made that solid sound.
