I can never understand customers who just have to make excuses and make things so difficult. I work as a Service Advisor at a dealership and if the quote exceeds $500 we have to collect a deposit on at least the parts prior to beginning work. Sometimes we tell them to pay upfront upon signing the quote if the customer seems sketchy. The second I hear "I'll think about it" I know they were planning on pulling a fast one and they usually go away. I really do feel for privately owned shops having to deal with problem customers.
