  1. No this is irresponsible people using the current scenario as an excuse to justify getting rid of their pet they impulse adopted/bought initially. I wouldn't get rid of our cat for anything. Buy cheap chicken/fish/duck/turkey, cut it up, portion it out, freeze it and then prepare it as needed on the stove top for your pet. A 10 second zap in the microwave to defrost it then cook it in a frying pan. My cat gets mixture of home cooked food and organic kibble. Keeps the costs of feeding him down but he still gets the sustenance needed. Hell, buy cheap cans of tuna or salmon. Those are great for your pet too.
