  1. Exactly. Did cheap oil changes in our Nissan Sentra for over a decade and the car still runs fine with 216k on it. On time oil changes are more important versus using oil that costs 3X as much. Also, when conventional was pretty much the only thing available those cars still ran 200k to 300k and beyond just fine.

  2. If synthetic oil is so good then why has our 2008 Nissan Sentra with 216k on it run just fine with Jiffy Lube $30 special? The oil has been changed every 5k (easy to remember intervals) and they use their filter as well. Engine starts, runs and pulls just like it did when the car had 10k when purchased. I would say on time oil changes are more important versus the oil itself. Plenty of BMWs and Audis with oil sludge issues and they run specific synthetic oil. Why do they still have that issue when running synthetic?
