So they're both idiots. If you follow someone then there's probably intent. If, however, you get out of your car to confront someone then it's a matter of who is the aggressor and who is the one defending themselves. There is no reason to get out of your car to confront someone. They may have a weapon on them or they end up using their car as a weapon. Some dummy once followed me trying to run me off the road so I drove fast enough to keep distance but slow enough so he could keep up. I drove right to a police station and suddenly, he had somewhere else to be and sped down the road. Nobody fought, nobody hurt. Simple.

@violetvio9117 That's why I said they're both idiots. All the knife guy had to do was drive somewhere else. If you think or know you're being followed then keep the wheels moving and make multiple turns. You DON"T need to exit your car. Imagine in my scenario if I decided to get out and wield a knife instead of doing driving to the police station how it may have gone down? As for the biker being arrested for following that wouldn't really stick. Charged maybe but not arrestable.
