Funny how you completely ignore the criminal doing criminal things and instead victim blame the cop.

@AvanaKa That's a reach. The criminals had a gun with the intent to use it. That's not something anyone is prepared for especially on what looks like a normal car crash. Do realize that really specialized personnel like Marines or Soldiers in general have been killed in action too. That "Be prepared for anything" might be true but it doesn't mean you are immune to getting hurt/killed.

@fallenangel7884 He didn't pull the trigger on himself. Some criminals did. You mean to tell me any time someone in law enforcement gets hurt it's because of their lack of caution and not the criminal? I'm sure in some cases that's true but not all the time.

@AvanaKa I can somewhat agree that the word "hero" is used too often and in too broad of contexts especially in North America. I disagree with the "cautious" part simply because all the caution in the world can still result in someone getting hurt or killed. To simply write this whole incident off as "a cop wasn't cautious and he was doing the job he's paid to do" angle is just cold and devoid of deeper meaning. Minimizing or over simplifying a service person's job speaks more about the person making the comment versus the person it's directed to.

Nice way to honor the Officer. 2022 was a rough year for Police and each time they were killed the crime was carried out by a multiple time offender. If this isn't proof that we need to revamp the legal system I don't know what is.
