Paolo, might I also point out your saying "Jesus(peace be upon him)" says quite a bit of your view of the world. First, the prophets are to be honored and in a way feared. "Peace be upon him". Indeed, some rulers of this world are better than others from the start. In your view, your beliefs are then superior to others. The advancement of Islam / Mohammed is then your main objective. Interestingly enough in Chapters 16 verse 106 in the Quran a Muslim may deny Islam and not mean it and he remains OK. Muslims refer to this as Taqiyya. Or in 3:28 of the Quran it says it's OK to pretend before non-Islam-believers friends to be friendly while you hate them in your heart. Indeed from the commentary on the Quran, "Al-Bukhari reported that Abu Ad-Darda said, 'We smile in the of them.' Al-Bukhari said that Al-Hasan said, 'Taqiyya is allowed until the Day of Resurrection.'" So Paolo, while Jesus was straight forward in what he said, can we ever really know as 'unbelievers' if Muslims are? Can you be trusted?

Paolo here is the quote from Pipes of what happened: "Late last week, the NATO PA organizers asked that MEF remove a speaker, Emre Çelik, from the program in response to a demand issued by the office of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. MEF removed the speaker from the program, but invited him to address the gathering anyway." He was removed from the program but allowed to address the gathering. Paolo, what is it that you want anyway? Is the truth too hard to bear or do you fear the reprisal from Turkey's new Sultan, Erdogan? Was this not their meeting? Or do you require all the world does your bidding while they cannot open their mouths in yours?

Paolo thanks for the information. But, I do think Taqiyya is actually found in the Quran. I refer you to this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6F4wBeshTsw&feature=youtu.be&t=38 It seems rather difficult to deny what David Wood is quoting here, unless of course you deny this portion of the Quran. Some Christians do this to the Bible as well when they don't think it's modern enough or being too harsh. Like I said it's been awhile since I was at school. Keeping to the facts and being ACADEMIC has it's advantages, I agree. I live in Germany so having a live discussion wouldn't be easy as the evenings seem to be full on my schedule and I do like to sleep at night. :)

What exactly do you want to debate? If you look at answeringmuslims.com that would be about all I would have to say to Muslims as far as their religion goes. I'm not trying to escape a live discussion when I know others can do that much better than I can. However, we could talk or "debate" if you really want to. How should I contact you? Please not until tomorrow (Thursday), however. Thanks. By the way. Are these "))))))" like exclamation marks? Or do they have another hidden meaning?

I think it was their Forum, not yours Paolo. Also, they did indeed take him off the program, did they not? Or would you just prefer that some people no longer exist? Please read comment above....

Paolo, I'm beginning to think everyone in the world is FETO-linked except Erdogan supporters. I know a man who has been incarcerated as a supposed "FETO-linked" person who, accused perhaps from someone with malicious intent, for over a year. He was mentioned by Pipes here, Brunson. Family members have known him over 35 years. There is no way a foreign christian living in Turkey over 20 years would even think of supporting a muslim for political overthrow. In particular Andrew. But I guess some people would believe anything without so much as one bit of evidence, except maybe "hear-say" from some disgruntled Turk. Are all dissenters of Erdogan FETO-supporters? That's the whole point here. Furthermore, this "hypocrisy" has somthing important to say of free speech and human rights. Here in Germany and there in the USA you insist on having it all Erdogan's way. All opponents are branded as FETO-linked or Kurd lovers. The point is, free speech is more important than being afraid of stepping on Erdogan's toes. At what point is it wrong to be "hypocritical" when dealing with a dictator? Some things might be more important than felt hypocrisy.

Paolo, thanks for getting me to look more closely at the facts. Really. Chelik is obviously associated with FETO. As far as being a hypocrite, I don't approve of it any more than you do, I am just appalled at Erdogan's methods of force used in many different countries. It could very well be that Güllen managed to get people to make a coup. All of this, however, does not call for the opposition not to tell their side of the story. If the facts are with Erdogan who would he have to fear? It's a rather strange situation in a free country to be told they are not allowed to hear the opposition and in many instances to be roughed up when things don't go the way they wanted. OK this didn't happen here. The turkish coalition peacefully left after being surprised by Chelik. Perhaps it would have been more in line with the culture of the US to accept that he would speak and ask for a period of rebuttal. Indeed, if the facts are all on Erdogan's side, what would he have to fear? By the way, I have a 30-year old MA degree in cross-cultural studies if that means anything to you.
