@Skank_and_Gutterboy but wouldn’t you prefer to be a part of it rather then a distant observer? They are YOUR kids after all

Those choices are the result of your conditioning wether you want to believe it or not

The difference is like the video says nuclear waste lasts for millennia not years

@1voluntaryist there will always be authority we just have to make sure it’s good and in check
4
@marytsmith6762 so what you are saying with a straight face is that we ought not be skepticals? Skepticism the literal foundation of science is “discredited” wow
2
@gnarthdarkanen7464 wow you really like to play psychologist with no background in the area don’t you it’s exactly the opposite kids especially in the critical period NEED their parents to be happy and will actually IMITATE what adults especially parents do. If you have kids please follow actual psychology rather then folk tales online thank you

Longtermism is the perfect example of how utilitarianism is a bad and contradictory philosophy
2
@PlatinumAltaria ah yes let’s compare radioactive atomic nuclei with harmless rocks after if I can drink water what harm could gasoline make to my body

@AmericanBrain what?

@marytsmith6762 learn to write please 😂😂😂😂😂
1
@marytsmith6762 okay grammar nazi
1
Imagine still thinking that pandemics or climate change are crisis 😂😂😂😂😂😂

This is probably going to be very controversial but what if there is a whole conscious being observing the universe from above in some non physical dimension and that is the consciousness of reality? Could quantum physics be the answer to God?
1
Probably the best take on free will I’ve ever seen
1
@colbyboucher6391 no one unironically uses the phrase “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” it’s only used to mock anyone who believes in improving your life in any way
1
@DrDeuteron no they don’t that’s exactly the problem we have now
1
Honestly I don’t think anyone should go through sex change surgeries before they reach around 20 it can have long lasting impacts on people who are not mature enough to make that decision just yet
1
To be fair to the quantum hype people tech companies not turning a profit has basically become an industry standard by this point
1
That’s pretty much the purpose of all branches of philosophy if you think about it
1
She’s a physicist so she’s probably a materialist
1
@kilohsakul how so? Aren’t humans made of particles after all
1
@ArsenGaming you also can’t prove that the spirit doesn’t exist
1
@the.ghilliedhu spirits are by definition non physical. Physics can’t explain everything
1
@arminho21 consciousness is either spiritual or deterministic your hatred is completely nonsensical
1
@ArsenGaming even if that was true it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist but it actually isn’t. Imaginary numbers can’t be observed yet their existence can be proven. We knew Uranus existed before we could observe it. Logical deduction can be used to prove the existence or inexistence of things beyond observation even better than empiricism actually. If something is logically impossible to exist then we know it doesn’t exist and if something is logically necessary to exist we know it does
1
@ArsenGaming where do you think mathematics comes from? Exactly it comes from the human mind! You’re confusing logic with instinct
1
@ArsenGaming what is an actual number in your view and how do you prove it? Everything is an imaginary construct but only because it exists one cannot imagine a color that doesn’t exist and one cannot imagine a number that doesn’t exist. They are only helpful because they exist
1
@ArsenGaming both are true for spirits since again if something is a logical necessity for the universe to function then it is known that it exists. You’re confusing mathematics with logic mathematics isn’t fundamental it cannot be used to prove the existence of anything logic is logic is what was used to prove Uranus and it’s what proves the existence of god and spirituality
1
@ArsenGaming okay my bad for mixing up Uranus and Neptune but my point still stands. Pure math isn’t fundamental logic is
1
@ArsenGaming you’re so wrong logic is what proves anything wether empirical or mathematical. Neither science nor math would exist without human logic and that’s why both scientists and mathematicians devoted a great deal of time to develop the field of logic. It’s entirely the opposite of useless everything that’s useful is logical because only logic can prove anything observation or math don’t exist without it
1
@ArsenGaming again you’re confusing logic with instinct stop mixing the two
1
@ArsenGaming no. Instinct is a product of thought it’s usually unconscious thought but it’s still something you have to think. Logic isn’t what you think about that’s reasoning you’re confusing terms again. Logic is a very specific useful and important discipline on how to reason properly to arrive at truthful conclusions. It is like I said the basis for mathematics as well as Philosophy science spirituality and all other forms of knowledge. It is essentially the discipline of using reason to arrive at truth there’s nothing possibly more reliable. Confusing logic with everyday thinking is like confusing observation in a scientific sense with looking out of a window. Words have a different common day and academic rigorous meaning. It’s important to be aware of what context we’re using them in. I do agree that everyday thinking isn’t reliable to understand the universe and can only be used to get us by. But logic in the rigorous sense is paramount to understanding anything. It’s literally the only reason why we know anything at all
1
@ArsenGaming oh my god you’re so wrong. The history of mathematics is in many ways the history of logic itself. First of all when arithmetic was created logic didn’t exist it only started to be developed in the 17 century and it only arrived at its modern form in the 20th. Throughout that period literally every task you’re talking about was only accomplished with a breakthrough in the field of Logic. It’s also not true that modern mathematics was built on top of arithmetic it was built against it through logic and on top of IT
