  1. Methinks that Russia has been playing the long game on this. Far from the Russians being sucked in by the West re the Minsk and other Agreements that they knew were never going to be honoured, in addition to pushing ahead with weapons production, technical developments were being made, hypersonic missiles, as well as sorting out their trade and financial networks. That was why the sanctions have had little effect, they had already prepared for them, excellent long term strategic thinking, longer than the one week used by the West as a time horizon.
