You do realise that not only is Niger an important source of uranium for France, but there is currently a gas pipeline being finalised that passes through Niger on to a hub in North Africa and then on to Europe. The pipeline is evidently owned by a good olde American company, Chevron, and sine the Nordstream sabotage they want to make as much money as they can selling gas to Europe. Niger is now not that predisposed to helping Europe given the way they have treated Niger in the past, hence young Vicki's trip. For a simple country girl with a simple dream of world domination, she doesn't look all that well.
