  1. Remember 'The Battle of the Bulge' in WW II, looks very similar to me. Last desperate push of a failing country that resulted in some short term gains, cost Germany hugely in terms of troops and material, and in the end only accelerated their downfall. A large incursion also invites a response of a pincer movement cutting them off and resulting in huge losses, for what? Ego? Money? Tell that to the families.
