  4. Very much depends upon the velocity of the projectile. In WW2 the British had a 10 tonne bomb (I think it was called the Grand Slam) that could penetrate some 2.5 metres into the reinforced concrete uboat pens in Farage and Hamburg. Given that it was a gravity bomb with a terminal velocity of around 1,000 kph anything coming in faster will penetrate further, e=mc2.
