@Beer_Dad1975 All of our Subarus were pre 2010, wouldn't go near the later models with the CVTs, electric handbrakes, stop/start rubbish. Around about the time of the XV they lost their way and thought they knew what customers wanted without asking them.
In OZ the Subaru Brumby and Outbacks had legendary status for ruggedness and reliability, and there is quite an established industry there to keep them going, used to get parts from them.
Whether driving around the city or up the mountain in locked 4WD to go snow skiing, the cars never let us down, the EA81 engine converted to fuel injection and with electronic ignition never missed a beat, 10,600 feet, not a problem.
